Family heirloom or reading Kang's millions of couplets.

There is no other way to do things well,

Reading family heirlooms is still a good idea.

Between Tang Tang in Luoshui and Banpo in Mangling, there is an unpretentious ancient building complex with blue bricks and gray tiles. This is Kang Million Manor, which is known as the spiritual home of Henan businessmen and a model of ancient buildings in the Central Plains.

In this manor, which witnessed the prosperity and development of a family, many couplets have gone through vicissitudes but have been passed down to this day. These couplets, either to show business philosophy or to strengthen family style and family training, have cultural connotations and are widely welcomed by tourists and scholars. Among them, there is such a couplet on both sides of the hanging door of the Third Hospital in the main residential area: "There is no other way to do good, or study." The Kang family refined the core content of their family instructions into couplets engraved in the places where they must pass in and out of the manor, that is, they always reminded future generations to do good deeds and accumulate virtue, and insisted on carrying on the family line. For more than 400 years, under the influence of family precepts, most of the descendants of the Kang family are kind and hardworking, thus maintaining the continued prosperity of the family and creating many legendary stories.
