The story of Emperor Taizong and Wu Zetian

Wu Zetian was born in a bureaucratic landlord family who was not a gentry. Although her father Wu Shihuo was a poor landlord, he became rich by managing timber, so he had to make friends with Li Yuan who stayed in Taiyuan at that time. Wu Shihuo helped the Tang Dynasty to fight against the Sui Dynasty, became the founding father of the Tang Dynasty, became a member of the ruling class group of the Tang Dynasty, and was the official to the Ministry of Industry, Shangshu and Lizhou secretariat. Wu Zetian's mother, Yang, was born in a famous family in Guanlong and a military aristocratic family, and her grandfather, Yang Shida, was the prime minister of Sui Dynasty. Gaozu married Yang. Under the influence of such an agricultural bank environment, Wu Zetian was proficient in literature and history since childhood, smart, resourceful, stubborn and courageous. When she was fourteen years old, Emperor Taizong heard of her beauty, called her into the palace, made her a talented person, and gave her the title of "Wu Mei". One day, Zhenguan went to visit Mei Niang, who deliberately did not go out to meet him, but continued to copy Wang Xizhi's ci in the study (Tang Taizong liked Wang Xizhi's ci very much). When Emperor Taizong arrived at the door, he didn't see Mei Niang. Knowing that she was writing, he went in to see it himself. Mei Niang was about to write the second paragraph after copying the first paragraph of the preface to Lanting, when Emperor Taizong exclaimed. Mei Niang pretended that she had just learned that Emperor Taizong had arrived, and quickly confessed her sins. Emperor Taizong did not care, and praised her for her beautiful handwriting, but she and he had a common fault, that is, she was too fat. Mei Niang was flattered and said that her own words were not as good as the emperor's. Emperor Taizong lamented that he couldn't learn Wang Xizhi's calligraphy well, but Mei Niang said, "Your Majesty, Mei Niang doesn't think it is necessary for the emperor to learn Wang Xizhi's calligraphy, let alone feel sorry for it. Wang Xizhi's son has studied his father's calligraphy all his life, which is still very different from Wang Xizhi's calligraphy. The emperor should write his own writing style so that future generations can remember his writing, not Wang Xizhi's. A person must have his own characteristics. " After hearing this, Emperor Taizong greatly appreciated it.

The second story is the story of Lion Qi told on the second floor.

Another thing I know is that Emperor Taizong killed Mei Niang after learning the rumor that "Wu Wang, the heroine, won the world". One day, he sent Mei Niang to the pavilion to play chess. After the invitation, Mei Niang found that Tang Taizong was not only absent-minded when playing chess, but also often lost chess. More unusual, he even played chess with a sword. Mei Niang immediately knew what was going on. Later, Taizong couldn't get down, and forgot what he was asking Mei Niang. After Mei Niang answered, Zhenguan frowned and picked up the glass. Mei Niang said, "The emperor actually came to kill Mei Niang today. I didn't expect Mei Niang to die because of rumors. It's really chilling! " After hearing this, Emperor Taizong felt very guilty and said, "How come, I love you so much." Mei Niang sneered, "Hum, really?" Then he grabbed the glass in the hands of Emperor Taizong and threw it underground. Immediately, four strong men with knives jumped out. Mei Niang rushed forward and shouted, "The emperor doesn't have to do it. Let Mei Niang solve it herself to get rid of the emperor's big trouble! " Then I went to get the sword of Emperor Taizong. Emperor Taizong was frightened to disgrace, grabbed the sword in Mei Niang's hand, waved away the four killers and vowed never to kill Mei Niang again. (to this effect)
