Wuhu records that he rebuilt Jiujiang Academy (Zhongjiang Academy) on 1865. 1870 Rebuild Anqing Yingjiang Temple and Zhenfeng Tower (known as the first tower of the Yangtze River).
He printed many manuscripts. For example, Xuan Ying wrote "Reading South China". His anecdotes are recorded in many notes of Qing Dynasty, such as Notes of Qing Dynasty and Notes of Yong 'an.
His best literary talents are calligraphy and couplets.
Wu Kunxiu still retains his Mo Bao, and many people praise his exquisite calligraphy:
1867, Wu Kunxiu took the lead in rebuilding the bridge building. Inscribe the words "the sky is high and the clouds are light" on the tower;
1869, the "Tomb of King Huainan of Han Dynasty" was written in regular script on the tombstone of King Huainan of Bagongshan, Shouxian County, Anhui Province.
In front of Hao Tao's tomb in Lu 'an County, there is still an inscription with the words "Ancient Gao Tao's Tomb" written by him, which is1.82m high and 0.92m wide, and the font is vigorous and powerful.
His couplets are great. In the fourth volume of Four-character Couplets written by Liang, a Qing man, there is a saying that "Wu is good at making couplets and his name is heavy for a while"
His inscription on the couplets of Hefei City God Temple is:
The castle is still there. Ask a thousand spring trees in the rain, who is the guarantee;
How abnormal the wind and rain are, only the clear waves outside the threshold are thousands of hectares, and the lessons are better than Yu Mei.
Li Boyuan described the process of rebuilding the Grand View Tower in West Anhui in Volume 5 of Four Chapters of Nanting and the Spring Festival couplets Except Night. ..... Wu Kun wrote couplets for Daguanlou:
Looking north at the Central Plains, natural rivers flow east.
He wrote to zeng guofan elegiac couplet is:
After 20 years of adversity, I know that I have worked very hard and I have been allowed to become a veteran of ZTE. I ran for my life, but I didn't get a smile. It hurt my dying disciple.
His brother Wu Heshan (Feng Weng) has been very kind to him all those years. When Heshan died, Wu Kunxiu wrote this elegy:
I am a brother of the same family. Say what happened in those days, pity me. I want to ask the elders in my hometown where to find someone after hard work.
In the book Selected Words of Ancient and Modern Couplets, it is said that once Wu Kunxiu played with his subordinates and got drunk. The prostitute Hongbi took out the written couplet and asked him for the next one. Wu Kunxiu one leng, freely agreed. When he saw the first couplet, he found a poem written by Li Shangyin: "May it become a red ribbon". Everyone is embarrassed. Wu Kunxiu calmly picked up the pen to deal with it, which was very wonderful: "I would like to turn it into a red ribbon, but it should be better than a blue sarong", which not only saved face, but also seemed very measured and easily dealt with the woman.
