Since 1986, Zhou Yongjian has served as the director of "Exhibition of Works of Young and Middle-aged Chinese Calligraphers and Seal Engravers", "Exhibition of Chinese Couplet Calligraphy", "Exhibition of Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Engraving", and "Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Award". "Judge; Deputy Director of the Jury of "Chinese Cursive Script Exhibition", "Chinese Calligraphy Academic Symposium", and "Chinese Calligraphy Franking Award Theory Award". He is currently a director of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, deputy director of the Cursive Script Professional Committee of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, vice chairman of the Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, chairman of the Chongqing Calligraphers Association, professor of the School of Liberal Arts of Southwest University, master tutor of calligraphy, and deputy editor-in-chief of Chongqing Publishing Group.
Mr. Zhou Yongjian passed away due to illness in May 2008 at the age of 56. During his serious illness, he devoted his life's income and donated 1 million yuan to establish the Chongqing Calligraphy Award Fund to encourage emerging talents to inherit the art of calligraphy. As the former deputy editor-in-chief and editor-in-chief of Chongqing Publishing Group, Zhou Yongjian served as the chief planner and editor of books and achieved very good results. Among them, "Chinese Seal Style Series of Past Dynasties" won the "Nomination Award for the Fifth National Book Award" and the "First Prize of the First China Art Book Award".
Zhou Yongjian has been engaged in calligraphy creation and theoretical research on calligraphy and painting for nearly 30 years. His calligraphy works have participated in the "Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Exhibition", "Chinese Young and Middle-aged Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Exhibition", "Chinese Couplet Exhibition", "China "Cursive Calligraphy Exhibition", "The National Art Museum of China's First Contemporary Famous Calligraphy Nomination Exhibition", "Japan·The First All-China Representative Calligraphy Exhibition", "Paris·Modern Chinese Calligraphy Art Exhibition", "International Calligraphy Exchange Exhibition", etc. More than 40 national calligraphy art exhibitions. Zhou Yongjian's works are collected by national cultural and museum institutions such as the Palace Museum and the National Art Museum of China.
Zhou Yongjian has published more than 300,000 words of calligraphy and painting monographs and comments in national publications such as "Chinese Calligraphy", "Art History", "Literary News", "China Art News", etc., and published 100 calligraphy and painting works. Yu Ji was once employed by the Chinese Calligraphers Association and served as a judge for the "National Youth Exhibition" for seven consecutive times and as a judge for the Chinese Couplet Exhibition three times. In May 1987, at the invitation of the Singapore Calligraphers Association and appointed by the Chinese Calligraphers Association, he went to give lectures at the "Singapore Calligraphy Camp". In December 1996, he participated in the "Sixth China Literary Congress" as a representative of the Literary Congress.
