Four major regular script writers in Tang Dynasty

Ou Yangxun, Chu Suiliang, Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan are the four major regular script writers in the Tang Dynasty.

Ou Yangxun:

Representative regular script includes Jiuchenggong Li Quanming, Huangfu Birthday Monument, Huadu Temple Monument, and running script includes Zhong Nimeng's stippling and running script with thousands of characters. He has his own unique views on calligraphy, including eight methods of calligraphy works, teaching strategies, pen theory and thirty-six methods.

Chu suiliang:

Chu Suiliang is a calligrapher. He studied in Shinan first and then Wang Xizhi. He, Ou Yangxun, Yu Shinan and Xue Qi are also called "four outstanding figures in the early Tang Dynasty". His ink handed down from ancient times includes Meng's Monument and Preface to Wild Goose Pagoda.

Yan Zhenqing:

Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy is exquisite, and he is good at writing lines and opening letters. Have a great influence on future generations. Together with Zhao Mengfu, Liu Gongquan and Ou Yangxun, they are also called "four masters of regular script". Together with Liu Gongquan, they are called "Yan Liu" and "Yangu".

Yan Zhenqing's works, including Ji, Wu, Lu and Linchuan Ji, have all been lost. The Song people compiled Yan Ji.

Liu Gongquan:

Inscriptions handed down from ancient times include Diamond Sutra Engraving, Mysterious Tower Monument and Su Feng Monument. Cursive scripts include posts, sixteen-day posts, insulting posts, etc. Zhao Meng Tie and Postscript of Pear Tie from Wang Xianzhi are both masterpieces handed down from ancient times.
