Capital Normal University is a college that established calligraphy education earlier in China, and its founder is Ouyang Zhongshi.

Ouyang Zhongshi was born in Feicheng, Tai 'an City, Shandong Province in 1928. He is a famous scholar, educator, calligrapher and calligraphy educator in China. Professor and doctoral supervisor of Capital Normal University. In the long-term teaching practice, he has made active and in-depth thinking on some long-standing problems in Chinese teaching. In 1985, he presided over the establishment of the calligraphy major. First, he opened a junior college class for adult calligraphy, and the first batch recruited nearly 1 students from all over the country. Later, he developed undergraduate and master's education in calligraphy. In 1993, the State Council Academic Degree Office set up a doctor's authorization point for fine arts (calligraphy art education) in Capital Normal University. In 1998, the Ministry of Personnel approved Capital Normal University to recruit postdoctoral researchers for calligraphy projects. In 199 and 1993, Ouyang Zhongshi served as a master's student and doctoral supervisor respectively, thus establishing the first complete calligraphy education system from junior college, undergraduate course, master's degree, doctoral degree to postdoctoral degree in China's colleges and universities, and cultivating a large number of high-level professionals in calligraphy education in China. Under his initiative, in November 25, Capital Normal University established "China Calligraphy Culture Research Institute" and the first "Calligraphy Culture Museum" in Chinese universities. Ouyang Zhongshi also edited and wrote many important academic works, such as Introduction to Calligraphy, Overview of Calligraphy, Miscellaneous Knowledge of Calligraphy, Calligraphy of China, Calligraphy Course, Calligraphy and China Culture, and so on. Ouyang Zhongshi's calligraphy is fresh and elegant, calm and dignified, handsome and elegant, simple and gorgeous. Ouyang Zhongshi once served as a member of the evaluation group of art discipline of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee and a member of the jury of senior professional titles of art series art specialty of the Ministry of Culture. He is currently honorary president of China Calligraphy and Culture Research Institute of Capital Normal University. Member of the 8th to 1th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. On August 21st, 23, he was appointed as a librarian in central research institute of culture and history. In p>1985, he presided over the establishment of calligraphy art education major in Capital Normal University. After more than ten years' construction, he has formed a complete higher education system of calligraphy art from junior college to undergraduate college to master's degree, doctor's degree and postdoctoral degree, making the Calligraphy Research Institute of Capital Normal University a base for training high-level calligraphy talents and scientific research in China. In the study of calligraphy theory, he has compiled more than 4 monographs and textbooks. There are mainly History of Calligraphy in China, Calligraphy in China, Calligraphy Tutorial (editor-in-chief), Notes on Zhangcao, Calligraphy and China Culture (editor-in-chief) and series of calligraphy textbooks of China Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University (editor-in-chief, and self-written important parts). Among them, "Calligraphy Course" won the second prize of excellent teaching materials in colleges and universities of the State Education Commission in 1995. In 22, he won the first Lanting Award for Calligraphy in China and the Special Contribution Award for Education.
