Sun Xingyan (1753 ~ 1818) was a famous bibliophile, bibliographer, calligrapher and scholar in Qing Dynasty. Introduction
Sun Xingyan (1753-1818), whose name was Bo Yuan and Yuan Ru, was born in Yanghu County (now Changzhou City). Born in Guanzi Lane (now Heping South Road), he moved to Shuangguifang. In the fifty-second year of Qing Qianlong (1787), palace examination won the second place, and served as editor and editor of the Imperial Academy and director of the punishments department. In the fifty-ninth year of Qianlong (1794), he was promoted to the rank of doctor of punishments. Later, he served as a Taoist platform and acting as a provincial judge, and he was clean and honest. In the 16th year of Jiaqing (1811), when he was appointed as Shandong's envoy, he called for sick leave and returned to his hometown. Three years later, he lived in Yangzhou and participated in the school magazine "Quantang Wen". In the twenty-first year of Jiaqing (1816), he presided over Nanjing Zhongshan Academy. He has lectured on Taizhou Anding Academy, Shaoxing Academy, Hangzhou Jingjingshe Academy, etc., in order to educate talents. In the 23rd year of Jiaqing (1818), he died at the age of 66. He devoted his whole life to the study of classics, history and literature, and even hundred schools of thought. He is good at epigraphy, official seal script, especially proofreading, and the series of Pingjin Pavilion and Dainan Pavilion are rare books. He was diligent in writing, accumulated more than 3 years' work, collected the achievements of ancient and modern scholars, and published Notes on Ancient and Modern Texts of Shangshu, which marked the peak of the study of ancient Chinese classics in Qing Dynasty. Therefore, Sun Xingyan became an important figure of Ganjia School. He is also the author of various anthologies, such as Zhouyi Ji Jie, A Record of Visiting Monuments All over the World, Inside and Outside the Catalogue of Sun Shi's Books, and A Record of Poems of Fangmaoshan People.
Life
