In the first few years, I also wrote some genealogical couplets.
This kind of couplet is not written by everyone, only those who worship genealogy need it. At first, I didn't know how to write a genealogy, but later an older elder told me something. What I wrote the most was this sentence:
I wish your ancestors a long life and wealth, and I wish your parents happiness forever.
I think this content is the best, with positive energy and no other colors. In addition, there are some things that were written less, which I forgot.
One or three cross sections of genealogy can be written, which must be singular. What you often write is: a thousand generations, cautious pursuit of distant places, a pea for a thousand years and so on.
The whole process of pasting genealogy couplets is very solemn, and others can only watch it, but can't interfere. Only the head of the household can complete the whole ceremony.
The genealogy is spread out in the middle of the hall, with couplets on both sides, incense tables and tributes. The layman will ask the younger generation to kneel and kowtow, warning them to be careful in their words and deeds before their ancestors, and the ceremony will be over.
The genealogy will not be put away until the third day of the first month, and there are also ceremonies. I can't remember anything else, but I remember there will be several anti-aircraft guns (kicking feet), which means to send ancestors back to heaven.
Sticking Spring Festival couplets is a necessary Spring Festival ceremony for every family. If there is no Spring Festival couplets, you can know that someone must have died recently.
Any elder who dies must have a three-year mourning period, and a pair cannot be posted. If you really want to post it, you can post it in blue instead of red. I just heard that I haven't seen anyone post blue Spring Festival couplets.
If, within three years, there are important events at home, such as the younger generation getting married and having children, there is nothing taboo to be the top scholar, and Spring Festival couplets can also be posted during the New Year. Among them, happy events such as giving birth to children are unpredictable, but marriage must wait until old friends 100 days later.
It seems a little off topic. I'll post a pair when I get back. When putting up Spring Festival couplets, it marks the real beginning of the year. You can give up your usual job and start enjoying the festival wholeheartedly.
Generally speaking, Spring Festival couplets must be kept until the fifth day of the first month. During the period, if the damage is caused by wind, it should be repaired in time. After the fifth day, you don't have to worry about it. Let nature take its course. Some people who are more particular are especially solemn when they stick to their children, and they stick them firmly. Even if the wind and sun fade, it is still intact. Before the Spring Festival couplets are posted next year, it is necessary to clean them up before posting new couplets, which is also a new content besides the old cloth.
Since printed Spring Festival couplets appeared in the market, people have facilitated it and avoided the difficulty of asking for help. Most people choose to go to the market to buy ready-made Spring Festival couplets, but fewer people ask me to write Spring Festival couplets, which frees me from my busyness. But a few people will come to me. They say they still like to write Spring Festival couplets by hand, which can bring back the feeling of the past Spring Festival.
In recent years, with the return of traditional culture, calligraphy has been gradually valued, and there are many more people writing pairs by hand. After the Spring Festival the year before last, I went to eat in Quanjude, Qianmen Street, Beijing, and saw many handwritten Spring Festival couplets along the way. It really feels a little different.
Since I started the calligraphy class, before the Spring Festival, I have saved two Spring Festival couplets classes, and all the children actively participated. Seeing the happy and dedicated expressions on their faces, I felt a great sense of accomplishment and did a little to promote traditional culture. Seeing that the classroom is full of Spring Festival couplets written by children, there will be an unspeakable joy in my heart.
