Combining movement and stillness, using movement to describe stillness is one of the key points that people often ask for in composition skills; moving like a rabbit and being as quiet as a virgin is one of the ideal states of human behavior.
Quietness means stopping. There is a saying in the "Book of Changes" that "the Kun is soft and moves with hardness, and the quietest is virtuous", which expounds Confucian ethics; Confucius said that "the wise man moves, the benevolent man is quiet", which talks about the norms of life. From a philosophical point of view, movement and stillness are relative terms. Everything is in motion all the time. Any static state is conditional, temporary, and transitional, and therefore relative. The dialectic of movement and stillness can be found in various types of art. In calligraphy, "the main calligraphy is still in order to control movement, and the cursive calligraphy is in movement to control stillness", in painting "the square is about to go and then comes suddenly, and when it is about to move, it seems to stop", in music "the condensation never reaches the sound and pauses" and "Silence is better than sound at this time." Wang Anshi once collected famous sentences from his predecessors into a couplet: "Flowers still fall when the wind sets, and the mountains become more secluded when birds sing." The first sentence has movement in the silence, and the next sentence has stillness in the movement. The state of the two sentences changes, and the movement and stillness complement each other to form an interesting pair. It can be regarded as a "coincidental pairing" , but his sentence "the mountain becomes more secluded when a bird does not sing" was widely criticized and considered a dead sentence. Because it can only make people feel the cold and dead silence of nature, and loses the vivid and lively taste. We may draw the conclusion from this that the so-called stillness actually contains movement. Writing "quiet" in art is easy but difficult. Seeking tranquility in life is a rare enjoyment, and tranquility in learning is the ladder of progress. Therefore, "quietness" should be the goal pursued. As the saying goes, "A movement is worse than a tranquility." There is a folk proverb that "old people will not read "Three Kingdoms", young people will not read "Journey to the West"", which means "old people should be arrogant and young people should be steady". In the beginning of human life and learning, one must be able to endure loneliness and sit on the bench. Because:
1. Quietness is the premise of thinking. George Sand said: "Because people can calm down and think, their spiritual life has become extremely rich." Li Bai's "Thoughts on a Quiet Night" closely combines tranquility with homesickness, and Zhang Jiuling's "Lovers complain about the distant night, but they rise up in the evening to miss lovesickness" combines tranquility and longing. sublimation. And Pascal, who said that people are thinking reeds, clearly told us that all human dignity lies in thought. You are just a reed, the most fragile thing in nature. A breath or a drop of water is enough to kill you. But as long as you can think, even if the universe destroys you, you are still much nobler than the thing that kills you; because you know that you are going to die, and the advantage that the universe has over you, and the universe knows nothing about it . What a shocking declaration this is, what a confident and responsible expression it is, and what a noble thought it is. So you have no choice but to think quietly.
2. Quietness is a sign of maturity. The happiness of a mature person does not lie in frivolous behaviors such as romance, amusement and indulgent laughter, nor in cheap words such as praise, patronage and arrogance, but in perseverance and perseverance. In other words, it lies in the "quiet energy" from the inside out. This kind of calmness is the demeanor of "the Taishan Mountain collapses in front but the color remains unchanged", the calmness of "the true character of a hero is revealed only when the sea is flowing across the sea", and the calmness of "making decisions while making decisions thousands of miles away". This kind of maturity, which is as thick as a mountain, is a natural expression without any concealment or affectation. It is an iron-shouldered moral responsibility that does not show off or show off. All excellent things are simple, and they are fascinating precisely because of their intellectual simplicity.
