Qiu chronology
Born in Jinmen, Fujian, 1946 came to Singapore to settle down and study. Now he is a citizen of Singapore. 1969 graduated from the biology department of Nanyang university with a bachelor of science degree 1969- 1986, engaged in wood processing, fire sawing and coffee making. He was the first successful entrepreneur who started local coffee to make SunCafe and entered the foreign market-1984-the first one who taught China calligraphy and calligraphy theory1986 to non-Chinese and foreigners in English-gave up business and devoted himself to artistic work and writing. He has taught and exhibited calligraphy in Chinese and English in Zongxiang Guild Hall, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Department of Continuing Education of National University of Singapore, China Institution, radio station, Li Zhisheng, various religious groups and various clubs. Selected Works of Autumn Calligraphy published by China Institution of Singapore 1988 has been serialized for two years in Singapore's Star Siam Daily Art Weekly. * * * Published one hundred issues of 1990 monograph "Coffee Research", which is the first Chinese version of the coffee encyclopedia 1990- 1992. When he was acting secretary-general of the Singapore Red Cross, he presided over disasters in the Philippines, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan and Africa. And the relief work in Indonesian, Vietnamese refugee camps and China floods. 199 1 The English version of Behind the Brushes: A Collection of China's Calligraphy Stories was published, which is the first local monograph introducing China's calligraphy in English. 1988- 1999 has published 20 monographs. From 1993 to 1999, he held 18 charity exhibitions for Shuanglin Temple, schools, hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions, and * * * raised funds for charity1860,000 Singapore dollars. 1994 was awarded the "International Calligraphy Contribution Award" jointly by Taiwan Province Chinese Cultural Renaissance Movement Association and Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Printing Society. And enjoy the reputation of "three schools", namely calligraphers, calligraphy theorists and calligraphy educators. 1995 was awarded the "International Outstanding Works of Painting and Calligraphy Award" by Taiwan Province Cultural Renaissance Movement Association. 1998 held a solo exhibition and a special lecture in Washington at the invitation of the American embassy. At the invitation of the Art Department of Malilan University, he taught calligraphy courses for advanced degree students. 1998 at the invitation of Jinmen county government, social education museum and calligraphy society, he held the new book release conference of Qiu Hometown solo exhibition and Qiu Tan Calligraphy, and won the "model overseas Chinese" award. 1999 was invited by the Reconstruction Committee of South Shaolin Temple in China to write an inscription for the memorial archway and mountain gate of South Shaolin Temple. 1999 was invited by the largest cable TV company in the United States to produce the English TV program Calligraphy Art in China. This program has1.500 million viewers. 1999 Singapore National Computer Bureau held "Autumn Charity Spring Festival" on the Internet. Raising money for Singapore Children's Charity Federation is the first ever online charity calligraphy bazaar. 1999 went to China South Shaolin Temple to hold the foundation stone laying ceremony for "Daxiong Hall". 1999 raised money for Leling Kidney Washing Fund, and donated 40 calligraphy works as standard for the Mid-Autumn Festival.
