What does Su Shi's independence mean?

Su Shi is independent, horizontal but not flowing. Generally speaking, philosophy, like science, is not prostrate at the feet of authority, so it is better to be respectful than obedient, but appeal to reason advocates the spirit of doubt and criticism. If there is any difference between philosophy and science, it lies in its special thinking dimension-reflection, that is, thinking in reverse with thinking itself as the object. In other words, we should actively ask the basis of a certain way to understand or grasp the world, whether it is religion, art, science or even philosophy itself, and examine its actual effect, which is often compared between these different ways. It's as if we walked along a certain road for a while, then suddenly jumped back, carefully looked at our footprints and the surrounding scenery, and then went back to the starting point, turned twice, stamped our feet, and even tried to take another road! In another space, in another mood, "the scenery is long, so it should be eye-catching". This is what a truly philosophical person must do. On this basis, we can enrich our thinking, deepen our understanding of the world and capitalized characters, and of course, it may also bring deeper confusion and even pain. But this is what we have to do. Unless we are willing to follow the example of ostriches and plunge into the earth in the face of major problems, we will make ourselves dark and numb. Reflection is the basic thinking mode of philosophy, and the ability of reflection is of course the basic quality necessary for a person with philosophical literacy. This is easier said than done. Because we believe what we want to believe too easily! For it-our spiritual dependence and self-esteem depend on it-we will rack our brains and do our best to "fight back against all enemies." We will openly ask, "I can't see it is wrong", "Isn't it logically impeccable" and "Isn't it a perfect solution to all our doubts". When we say this, we may not notice other N kinds of theories-some of which may be completely opposite to our own-and it is not enough to "see that it is wrong", "logically impeccable" and "solve us satisfactorily" that a person is truly independent of the Soviet Union and the world, rather than flowing horizontally. To do this, we must first overcome ourselves and constantly surpass ourselves! Otherwise, the practice and talk of "everyone is drunk and I wake up alone" may be a "soul brand" dog skin plaster made by myself! A true philosopher must ask himself: Do I believe in truth or what I really need and like? Without it, I would feel as painful as "the towering tower fell and the Yangtze River collapsed". Perhaps because of the misfortune of life, I advocate that we must often lose our feet in a 100,000-meter-high building-at least dancing on the edge and playing games such as cutting cables in the Pacific Center!
