The history and culture of Shanyang Town

Shanyang has a long history and profound cultural heritage. The Ming and Qing governments sent inspections here. Because of its dangerous terrain, it was called "Shan Pass" in ancient times. Shanyang Township was established in the 1970s and was removed from the township in 1992 to establish a town. In history, the academy was at its peak, and there were many talented people. There were nearly a hundred famous Jinshis. Yu Fu, the number one scholar in the Song Dynasty, Lin Chaopin, the anti-British national hero in the late Qing Dynasty, and Li Ruochu, the modern calligrapher, are all outstanding representatives. The territory is full of outstanding people. Zhu Xi, the acting scholar of the Song Dynasty, once gave lectures here. The ruins of Lantian Academy and Zhu Xi's handwriting still exist today, so it is also known as the "hometown of the sages."
