In the teaching process, we adhere to the policy of promoting both knowledge and art, and pay attention to the compatibility of calligraphy and related disciplines. Emphasize the solid system of basic theories, pay attention to the training of basic calligraphy skills and the pursuit of artistic depth. The cultivation of abilities and the improvement of overall quality should be carried out throughout the entire teaching process, so that students' academic accomplishment and artistic level, research ability and calligraphy ability can complement each other and develop in a coordinated way. Overcome the impetuous mentality and the desire for quick success in academics and art. Be based on the long term and pay attention to the potential and stamina for development.

The development and growth of the Institute of Chinese Calligraphy Culture at Capital Normal University is based on the unremitting efforts of predecessors in the academic calligraphy field, which reflects the country's emphasis on and care for the discipline of calligraphy. In the process of calligraphy construction, we often go out to learn from brother colleges and universities, and consult and learn from senior calligraphers in the academic circle. We have received widespread support and love from colleagues in the academic calligraphy circle. It can be said that the development of the calligraphy discipline of Capital Normal University cannot be separated from the care and support from all aspects. Looking back at our work, there are still many shortcomings. We sincerely hope that we can continue to receive help and support from the academic calligraphy community. At the same time, we are also willing to work together with friends in the academic calligraphy community and go hand in hand to make new contributions to the construction and development of the calligraphy art education discipline.

After more than ten years of hard work and with the support and help from all aspects, the First Normal University has established a complete higher calligraphy education system in my country’s universities from postdoctoral, doctoral, master’s to undergraduate and junior college. ——China’s only national-level highest award for calligraphy that has attracted much attention—the Third Chinese Calligraphy Franting Award was announced on November 4, 2009. "Research on Engraving Culture" won the first prize of the Theory Award. There are only 5 people in the country who have won this honor. This is the highest award the Chinese Calligraphy Culture Research Institute has received since Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi won the first Lanting Award for Educational Lifetime Achievement. The Chinese Calligraphy Lanting Award is the only national-level highest calligraphy art award approved by the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. This year’s Lanting Award consists of Art Award, Theory Award, Education Award, Editing and Publishing Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and the Yaoshan Cup Lanting New Talent Exhibition. awards. Professor Wang Yuanjun is the first postdoctoral fellow in calligraphy in my country. His award-winning monograph is "Research on the Calligraphy and Engraving Culture of the Han Dynasty" (published by Shanghai Painting and Calligraphy Publishing House in 2007), which was completed based on the postdoctoral outbound report. The Han Dynasty was a long time ago, with complicated materials and few achievements. It has always been regarded as a daunting path by calligraphy researchers. The author overcomes difficulties and uses cultural sociology and systems theory as theoretical reference to try to explain the form, role and status of "books" in the society of the Han Dynasty, and to explain the social and cultural roots of its development. The author extracted 14 topics from the calligraphy and engraving culture of the Han Dynasty and unified the complex materials. He not only conducted timely research on the relationship between each topic and the relationship with the entire cultural system, but also clarified the relationship between each topic. The diachronic evolution process of various phenomena and systems forms a criss-crossing network narrative structure, giving readers a clear sense of time and space. This book has a broad research horizon, and even marginal issues such as "Taoism and writing" and "decorative writing" are included in the research horizon. This book also has considerable depth. It has a thorough analysis of many issues such as writing education, calligraphy, writing of official documents, selection of officials, name letters, Hongdu sects, and the system of official documents in the Han Dynasty. It has obvious significance. Groundbreaking. The book has been widely praised by academic circles since its publication.
