The China Academy of Art is China's first comprehensive national institution of higher art. It is established by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. It is the first institution of higher learning to implement design studies. It is the birthplace of China’s earliest art revolutionary group, the only national key discipline of fine arts in China, and one of the first batch of national “double first-class” world-class discipline construction universities.
