Deng Shiru has a study called "Bishan Bookstore". He wanted to write a couplet as an embellishment, but after thinking hard for a long time, he could not get an elegant and satisfactory couplet. One day, Deng Shiru summoned his students and asked them to write couplets for the teacher's study. He encouraged everyone to broaden their minds and advised them: "The master is better than the master." When the students heard that they were writing couplets for the teacher's study, they were all eager to try and compete. Want to stand out. Soon after, many students submitted their drafts of couplets. Deng Shiru looked at them one by one and carefully considered them. Many couplets were rejected due to minor flaws. Seeing that most of the couplets were eliminated, Deng Shiru was almost disappointed. Suddenly, a couplet deeply attracted his attention. Gorge clouds, Dongting moon, Pengli smoke, Xiaoxiang rain, Wuyi peak, Lushan waterfall, combined with the wonders of the universe, are painted on the wall of my studio; Shaoling poems, Mojie paintings, Zuo Chuanwen, Ma Qian's history, Xue Tao's notes, Youjun's posts, Nanhua Sutra , Xiangru Fu, Qu Zili Sao, collecting the ancient and modern art, and setting it up in my mountain window. The first couplet describes the landscape. The strange mountains, rivers, wind, clouds, sun and moon in nature can be seen at a panoramic view, and the momentum is extraordinary. The second couplet describes humanities, thousands of years of Chinese celebrities, poems, poems, calligraphy and painting classics and history.
