The appearance of pen container is not as early as we thought before. In fact, no matter from the records of literature or the remains of objects, the straight pen container we named was produced around the end of Ming Dynasty and Wanli. Before this, people didn't use this kind of pen container. In some of our TV plays, the characters in the Tang and Song Dynasties have used pen containers, which is incorrect. These Huang Huali and rosewood pen holders handed down from generation to generation were mainly produced in the early Qing Dynasty.
This pen container is basically cylindrical, with slightly smaller feet and slightly divided waist, and the circular protrusion of nails at the mouth is not obvious. There is a poem engraved on the outer wall of the pen holder. Calligraphy is the most popular font in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and it seems to be an unofficial font. This font was also quite common on blue and white porcelain at that time. The heart is like chess, it is alive.
