Who's Cao Sheng?

There are three calligraphers who have the title of "Cao Sheng", namely Zhang Zhi in the later Han Dynasty, Zhang Xu and Huai Su in the Tang Dynasty.

1, Zhang Zhi: Born in Yolanda Town, Guazhou County, Jiuquan City, Dunhuang (now around Sidaogou Ancient Town, Guazhou County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province), the date of birth is unknown, and the date of death is about 192. He is diligent in studying ancient times, but he is not as advanced as scholars. He likes calligraphy and his calligraphy attainments are extremely high. Later generations praised it as "unprecedented" and called it "the sage of grass".

2. Zhang Xu: A native of Wuxian (now Suzhou, Jiangsu) in the Tang Dynasty, he was good at calligraphy, especially cursive script, so people called him "the sage of grass", and Zhang Xu was also the founder of crazy grass calligraphy in China. It is rumored that Yan Zhenqing once asked him for advice, which shows that his calligraphy attainments are extremely high.

3. Huai Su: Huai Su, a monk, was born in Lingling, Yongzhou (now Lingling, Hunan) and was a calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty. His calligraphy attainments are also extremely high, and he is as famous as Zhao Xu, and he is known as "the boss". Huai Su took cursive script as the most important, and some people called him "Cao Sheng", but he was better at his wild grass, also known as a monk.
