I am a calligraphy enthusiast. Based on my own experience, I would like to talk about some issues that need to be paid attention to when practicing calligraphy.
1. Selection of calligraphy stickers
To practice calligraphy at home, without the direct guidance of a teacher on site, you must invite the silent teacher of calligraphy stickers to your home, and study it with sincerity and concentration , try to figure out, practice by practice. Without calligraphy practice books, you will inevitably fall into a situation of working behind closed doors, practicing blindly, and working in vain. When choosing stickers, you must choose famous stickers. Once selected, you cannot change it at will.
2. Tools
If a worker wants to do his job well, he must first sharpen his tools. When practicing calligraphy for the first time, the choice of pens, inks, and paper does not have to be expensive, but it should not be too inferior. For those who are new to calligraphy, their ability to control tools is poor. If they use inferior tools, it will be difficult for them to write effectively, and their self-confidence will be easily affected.
3. Pay attention to the basics
The basis of calligraphy practice is the training of basic strokes and basic structures. Just like learning to walk requires mastering basic footwork, calligraphy practice must begin with basic stroke practice. Don't be "rushed for quick success" or eager for success.
4. Pay equal attention to mental skills and techniques
Calligraphy practice is not a mechanical imitation. A preliminary resemblance is easy to achieve. However, in order to achieve both form and spirit, one must figure out, understand, and master the subtle and clever changes based on basic techniques. Only those who have mastered the method can write brilliant works. Otherwise, they are just zombies.
5. Communication
"Bottlenecks" will occur during practice. That is to say, at a certain stage, no matter how much you practice, you can't find the feeling, and no matter how you write, you still haven't improved. This situation is normal, and the solution is to pause for a while and reflect on the problem. Or, if you communicate with others, you may be able to spot the problem right away. In this way, by prescribing the right medicine, new improvements can be made.
