Under the careful guidance of Zhou Yunzhen and Liu Chengquan, the famous calligraphers in Guizhou, Cenlan went deep into the Jin and Tang Dynasties and laid a solid basic skill, which made him feel at home in his later cursive learning.
Because of this, many people ignore Cenlan's achievements in lower case letters. In fact, Cenlan's lower-case calligraphy is quite a legacy of Wei and Jin Dynasties, and its artistic height is not lower than that of cursive works.
Cenlan is a Buyi, a native of Qinglong County, Guizhou Province, a member of China Calligraphers' Association, a member of Guizhou Calligraphers' Association, and a vice chairman of Qianxinan Calligraphers' Association. Calligraphy works were exhibited in the 3rd Lanting Prize Art Award, 9th National Calligraphy Seal Cutting Exhibition, 2nd Youth Exhibition, 5th National Calligraphy Newcomer Exhibition, 4th National Calligraphy Exhibition, 1st National Calligraphy Exhibition, 1st National Cursive Calligraphy Exhibition and 6th National Couplet Calligraphy Exhibition sponsored by China Calligraphy Association.
