Su Shunqin (1008-1048) was born in Tongshan, Zizhou (now Zhongjiang, Sichuan). Poet and calligrapher of the Northern Song Dynasty, a scholar in the first year of Jing You in the Northern Song Dynasty. He was called "Samui" together with Mei Yao Chen, the founder of the Song Dynasty. He used to be a county magistrate, judge of Dali, supervisor of Jixian Hall and supervisor of concert hall.
Because he supported Fan Zhongyan's innovation in celebrating the calendar, he was hated by the old school. At the suggestion of the king, let his officials illegally play. Resign to live in Suzhou. Later, it was restored to Huzhou with a long history, but it soon died out. Su Shunqin initiated the ancient prose movement earlier than Ouyang Xiu, and directly exposed the social darkness with his works, because Su Shunqin became the object of many literati's pursuit with his sharpness.
The ancient prose movement initiated by him also ended hastily in great resistance. He has made great achievements in literature, including Su Shiwen Collection, Su Shunqin Collection (16) and four-part collection.
Su Shunqin's main achievements:
Su Shunqin was famous for his articles when he was young. He was not bound by the grandiose style of writing at that time, and devoted himself to the writing of ancient prose and poetry together with Mu Xiu, which had a positive impact on many writers of the same period in terms of poetry innovation. Ouyang Xiu's Preface to Su Wen's Anthology said that "the beauty of a child is not as good as the beauty of a poem, and learning ancient prose is behind", which highly praised his position in the poetry innovation movement.
The basic viewpoint of literary thought is "starting from ancient times and aiming at use" (Poems of Stone), which emphasizes the realistic spirit of inheriting Confucian literary thought and literature should reflect reality. His views on prose creation can be found in Duan Gongshu, deputy envoy of the Third Division of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress: "It is said that people are people because of their words; People who say it will be attributed to morality; Tao and righteousness, ze in things and then there. If it is, it will be immortal.
