How to appreciate Yuan Ni's epitaph

I. Appreciation

Calligraphy style

Influenced by the Southern Dynasties' calligraphy, it infiltrated into the round pen and running script, stippling and flowing, and the style of calligraphy tended to be elegant and chic, which was a transitional style in the development of vigorous Wei Bei to regular script. Although the author's name is unsigned, judging from the exquisite calligraphy of Yixiu, the epitaph is probably written by a calligrapher and sculptor with profound attainments.

Key points of replication

1, point. The points in the epitaph are divided into three categories: round and beautiful melon seeds are written directly below the bare front; The picks and similarities in the upper right corner are written in lines; The skimming point is formed by going straight down in front of the side. Use a pen boldly and decisively, such as jumping into the array quickly and forcefully, to avoid the formation of a big ink ball due to slow movement after the brush is dipped in ink. From top to bottom, from inside to outside, from outside to inside, from bottom to top, horizontally, so we should grasp the direction of writing.

2, long horizontal. There are five kinds of long and horizontal: horizontal, left pointing and right convex, left stressing and right convex, medium light and right convex, and curved and horizontal, such as Li, Sui, An, Zu and Zhe. The first two kinds of horizontal writing are exposed front and light pen entry. The former is gradually lifted, and the pen is naturally slightly retracted downwards, while the latter is gradually aggravated to the upper right and naturally retracted to the lower right. The last three horizontal strokes include from left to right and from right to right, so you should stroke quickly, sink the pen slightly, lift it gently, change the flank to the middle slightly parallel to the right, then stroke the pen slightly downward on the convex top and twist the pen to the lower right. The upper part of the right-handed pen shaft is slightly inclined inward to avoid being swept by the side and recycled into a large ink ball.

3, short horizontal. Many short horizontal lines are replaced by dots, and there are still a few short horizontal lines with square strength in Weibei. Generally speaking, you only need to write short strokes according to the original post, but you can't perfunctory. Be sure to pay attention to using a pen, and you can't slack off.

4. Vertical. There are long vertical and short vertical. Short vertical is easier to write than long vertical, and long vertical is mostly square head and tail (or round), such as "military" and "middle". The writing method is to hold the pen horizontally with the right hand or horizontally with the right lower hand. The pen tip comes in horizontally or obliquely from outside the painting, then quickly turns to the vertex downward, and finally swings the pen empty, or gradually picks it up and puts it away when it goes down. The tail of individual vertical paintings is square, so the pen tip can be closed to one side, or it can be closed at the end by pressing the pen belly hard.

5. hey There are two types of skimming: oblique skimming, angular and powerful; Arc skimming, rounded edges and corners, beautiful and beautiful. These two strokes can be divided into two parts: one is hard or not, the other is inclined to the left, and the other is left. Some of them are in running script. Be sharp when you start writing, don't drag your feet, and don't stop for a long time. Such as "Wei", "Dun", "Ming" and "Truth".

6. hey There are two kinds of flat pressure and oblique pressure. There are two kinds of flat pressure: natural pressure and gentle pressure. There are two kinds of oblique press: round foot and square strength, flat out and upturned. Although the evening is smooth, its weight, inclination and posture are in harmony with other stippling. Some of them become longer or shorter. Such as "far", "spring", "old", "present" and "old".

7. Hook. Some hook paintings start with another pen at the fold, and some don't start with another pen. Personal left hook also uses Li method. The writing of the heart hook is to press it again when closing the pen (the upper part of the pen is slightly inward), and quickly lift the front to surpass it. The key to the vertical hook is to erect the brush, left, right, right, left, left. Press it again to adjust the front to make it interesting. Such as "Liu" and "Sheng".
