Zhao Tieshan, born in a family with strict feudal ethics, is introverted and unsmiling, and rarely participates in social activities. On the surface, the old gentleman seems indifferent to everything, but in fact he is a person with very clear love and hate. The old gentleman is very willing to help the poor. He once used the couplet "whistle to make his chest full of business. You should know that there are many people suffering in the world." I seldom talk at ordinary times, but I treat everyone equally and care about the moral cultivation of the staff. He presented a pair of couplets to Secretary Jing Fengde, saying: "Colleagues are noble and United, but they can achieve great things; Tolerance is great, patience is great, why not? " He emphasized that harmony is the most important thing in getting along with others, and forbearance is the highest. Among them, the word "Rong" is very distinctive, like a person laughing. I want to tell you that if everyone can tolerate everything and make concessions, then everyone can keep laughing.
Zhao Tieshan is one of the last tributes in China's modern history, but he disdains being an official. "Resist the white wall and study hard" is a true portrayal of his character. He admired Fu Qingzhu's moral integrity all his life, and he was also a patriotic and upright Confucian scholar. In his diary after the "September 18th Incident", he wrote, "Today in China, there are only you and me, I am you, you are me, you and I don't care, China is lonely, there are people in China, and China exists", expressing his childlike innocence of worrying about the country and the people. The Japanese once asked him to be the maintenance president, but he refused. In order to deal with the Japanese threat, he had to play dead. This story spread to Xi 'an, and the cultural circles held a grand memorial service for him. Even Chiang Kai-shek sent a wreath to express his condolences.
When he really died, his character and works are still praised by later generations today. Friends praised him and said, "It's easier to die than to have a full name. Die before, die today. "
