Historic sites in Gangshan Street

There are three famous cliff carvings in Gangshan Street, namely: Tieshan Cliff Stone Carving, Gangshan Cliff Stone Carving and Jianshan Cliff Stone Carving.

Tieshan Cliff Stone Carving is also called "Xiaotieshan Cliff Stone Carving" and "Kuangjie Stone Carving". It is located on a huge granite shiping with an inclination of about 45 degrees in the urban area of North Tieshanyang. The stone carving is 66.2 meters long from north to south, wide from east to west 16.4 meters, and covers an area of 1085.68 square meters. Just above the stone carving, there are patterns of dragons, clouds and Buddha's light carved with negative lines. Carve words under the Buddha's light, the Buddhist tripitaka on the right, the ode on the left, and the title on the lower part of the scripture. In the first year of the Northern Zhou Dynasty (579), Kuang Jie, a master of engraving scriptures in Tieshan and a descendant of the prime minister of the Western Han Dynasty, asked the great monk An to write the Tripitaka. Description of wearing bodhi products; There are descriptions depicting auspicious images around the scriptures; There are also words praising the art of seal cutting calligraphy. This means that it can be compared with the calligraphy of Wang Xizhi, Dan Wei, Zhang Boying and Zhong You. From the analysis of eulogy, the author should be a disciple of Anyidao.

Gangshan engraved sutra is located in Shanyin Valley (commonly known as Langgou) in the north of Tieshan. The inscribed scriptures are centered on the rock commonly known as "Jizuishi" in the middle and scattered on the cliffs or rocks on both sides of "Wolf Gully". According to the content and distribution of engraved scriptures, there are four kinds of engraved scriptures in Gangshan: one is inscribed scripture, which is on the north side of Jizuishi; The second one is the Sutra of Buddha's Infinite Life, which is located on the east and south sides of Jizuishi. The third part is Entering Leng Ga Jing? Please be the first Buddha, on the cliff about 40 meters south of Jizui; The fourth is to carve "Into the Leng Ga Jing"? Please Buddha's products are scattered on 28 rocks or cliff walls in Langgou from east to west. The content is the same as that in the Shurangama Sutra, "Please invite the Buddha's products first". It is only carved in pieces, some on cliffs more than ten meters high, and some on rocks. Due to the erosion of mountains and rivers and earthquake activities, these carved stones fell into the ditch, or leaned over, mixed with rocks.

Jianshan lettering is located at about 1 km east of Jianshan (also known as Zhuque Mountain, commonly known as "Giant Buddha Ridge"), on a granite shiping with a slope of about 25 degrees, 6 kilometers east of the city. According to legend, whenever the sun sets, colorful clouds shine into the temple and reflect on the face of the Buddha statue in the center of the temple. The Buddha statue suddenly shines brightly, hence the name of the temple at sunset. The setting sun shines on the temple and the monks are sincere. There is a road leading to the capital in the north of the temple, and businessmen often pass by, bringing a lot of valuables. Monks often rob the rich and help the poor down the mountain. Later, the official submitted a royal case, and the monks went down the mountain to seize the royal case and killed the officers and men, which caused great disaster. Later, the government sent officers and soldiers to surround the temple, and all the monks in the temple escaped, leaving only a lame monk with poor legs and feet, so he climbed the flagpole in the northeast of the temple and drove away, leaving only a monk well. The flagpole was burned out, leaving a flagpole stone for inserting the flagpole. After the temple disappeared, it was not until the reservoir was dug in the 1960' s that the site was discovered. The site of Zhao Temple at sunset is a protected cultural relic in Zoucheng.
