Wang Geyi (1897- 1988) was born in Haimen, Jiangsu. /kloc-went to Nantong to study at the age of 0/6, and was good at poetry, epigraphy, calligraphy and painting. At the age of 27, introduced by Zhu Zongyuan, she went to Shanghai to be a teacher of Wu Changshuo. He is also a disciple of martial arts painting and calligraphy. He used to be a professor at Shanghai Xinhua Art Institute, Suzhou University, Changming Art Institute, a professor at Shanghai Fine Arts Institute, and head of the Department of Chinese Painting. After the founding of New China, he served as vice president of Shanghai Painting Academy, honorary president, director of China Artists Association, vice chairman of Artists Association and Calligraphers Association Shanghai Branch, vice president of Xiling Printing Society and librarian of Shanghai Literature and History Museum. He is a member of the third, fourth and fifth sessions of China People's Political Consultative Conference.
