The Teaching Achievements of Beijing No.19 Middle School

In recent ten years, our school has been awarded the titles of "National Modern Educational Technology Experimental School", "National Computer Education Experimental School" and "Beijing Science and Technology Education Demonstration School" successively by the Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipality. The school has an influential "Beijing Jinfan Youth Broadcasting National Orchestra" at home and abroad, and the branch of "Beijing Jinfan Painting and Calligraphy Institute" is also built in this school.

The characteristic education of computer, physical education, music and art is the brand of the school. In 1994, Beijing No.19 Middle School was identified as the first ten experimental schools of computer education and teaching in China by the National Computer Education Research Center for Primary and Secondary Schools, and was approved by the State Education Commission as the first experimental school of modern educational technology in China in 1997. In recent years, computer teaching has made outstanding achievements. From 2l—23, it won the first and second prizes in the national "June 1st" computer competition for three consecutive years. In 22, its students won the first prize in the computer programming group of senior high school in the Beijing Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition. In 23, three students were awarded the new science and technology seedlings in the district. In 23, its students won 15 first prizes in the Century Cup computer competition in Haidian District.

The school has popularized computer education among teachers and students, and all teachers are equipped with laptops, so that modern educational technology can be applied to daily classroom teaching. The third grade of junior high school started the "laptop network teaching class". The school has track and field teams (men and women), orienteering teams (men and women), basketball teams (men and women), volleyball teams (men and women), softball teams (men and women), handball teams and women's Taekwondo teams ...

The school handball team won the first prize in domestic and international competitions for many times, and orienteering won the first prize. The school also explores the road of internationalization: in 1995, it established a friendly relationship with Lili Braun Middle School in Berlin, and conducted regular exchange visits between teachers and students every year. The "double foreign languages" intensive classes in junior and senior high schools of this school have been held for many years. While strengthening English, a second foreign language, German, has been offered, and some students have volunteered to study in Germany. The school held a "knot with one heart" activity, established friendly relations with the United States, France, Switzerland, Finland, Malaysia, Japan and other countries, and visited the treasure island of Taiwan Province. In 1996, the school started a "foreign students' class", and began to admit foreign students to the school for exchange and study, and offered Chinese classes, China calligraphy classes (soft pen and hard pen calligraphy classes), and school arts and crafts classes to make handmade soft pottery (Fuwa Olympic mascots, etc.). This school is recognized by Beijing as a "window school for the education system to visit the outside world" and a "school for accepting foreign students' qualifications".
