Dynasty: Song Dynasty Author: Fan Zhongyan
The scenery in Qiu Lai is different, and Hengyang Goose is unknown. Around, the sound of the horn sounded, thousands of miles away, and the long smoke closed.
A glass of turbid wine is Wan Li's home, but Ran Yan hasn't come home yet. Qiang tube covered with frost, people do not sleep. The general was white-haired and in tears.

Autumn has come, the scenery on the border is completely different, and the geese flying to Hengyang have no nostalgia. As the bugle sounded in the barracks, neighing came from all directions. Mountain peaks stand side by side like a thousand miles barrier, filled with smoke and hazy sunset. I can only see four desolate deserts and a closed and lonely city. I have a cup of sorrow, leaving home in Wan Li, and I have a lot of thoughts. Thinking of the injustice on the border, thinking of unfinished business, I don't know when I can return to my hometown. The sound of Qiang flute is melodious, and frost is sprinkled all over the ground. Generals and soldiers can't sleep. They all turned white and shed sad tears.
Writing background
From the first year of Song Kangding (A.D. 1040) to the third year of Li Qing (A.D. 1043), Fan Zhongyan served as the deputy envoy of Shaanxi Province and the magistrate of Yanzhou. According to historical records, when he was guarding the northwest frontier, he not only strictly ordered the soldiers to be taken care of, but also attracted all Qiang people to accept him, which was deeply feared by Xixia, saying that he "had tens of thousands of armour soldiers in his belly." This poem named "Qiu Si" is a fisherman's pride and a sentimental work when he was in the army.
