According to the provisions of Article 145 of the Civil Procedure Law, if the plaintiff applies for withdrawing the lawsuit after the trial and before the verdict is pronounced, whether it is allowed or not shall be decided by the people's court. The people's court shall make a ruling on whether to approve the withdrawal of the lawsuit and serve the ruling on the parties.

The law does not stipulate how long it will take to make a ruling, but it stipulates that the first-instance procedure should be concluded within six months from the date of filing the case.
