The meaning of acting master's life lies in dedication-loving bodhisattva.
Anyone who has seen Master Yan Jue build a large jungle-style regular temple from scratch in the barren hills and mountains can't help but ask: Why did he choose such a difficult road to preach? Master Yan Jue said that it is too hard to see all beings in poor areas, and it is necessary to bring the Buddha's light to the most bitter place so that all suffering beings can hear the Dharma, practice blessings and get rid of it. This is one of his great wishes. He added that Master Huineng, the sixth ancestor, repeatedly warned that "Buddhism is in the world and never leaves the world". To practice bodhisattva is to put what you have learned into the world and benefit all beings. There is self-awareness in others, self-interest in altruism and self-achievement in others. This is his second big wish. He also said that the Buddha taught in Hua Yan Jing that all methods of Buddhism are to let all beings open their eyes, show their eyes, realize their eyes and enter their eyes. Although I personally have no achievements in Buddhism, it is the unshirkable responsibility of Buddhism to spread Buddhism among all beings and leave a Dojo for future generations to cultivate happiness and wisdom. This is his third big wish. 199 1 year, Master Yan Jue left Yunju Mountain after bidding farewell to his teacher and went to Dangdang Mountain in long gang zhen, Yangxin County alone. On the site of the original Tangdang Temple bombed by the Japanese army, he lived in a hut and ate it once a day. The effect was very good and he raised Bodhi Lotus. Go deep into the world and practice his great wish of spreading dharma and benefiting people's livelihood. During his stay in the thatched shed, the master went deep into the people, shared worries and joys with all sentient beings, and forged a broad Buddhist relationship with the local people. He was supported and loved by the general public, commended by local governments at all levels, and strongly supported him to rebuild the Buddhist temple in Dangdang Mountain to reproduce the solemnity of the lotus. Tangdang Temple was founded in 956 AD, that is, the third year of Xiande in the later Zhou Dynasty. At that time, the temple was a triple temple, where more than 50 monks lived. At that time, the Buddhist monk Hongzhen advocated the "Buddha Lantern Festival" in order to promote Buddhism, and the incense was very prosperous. Until the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, it was bombed and burned by Japanese planes. At present, there are monuments such as the "Buddha Lantern Festival" stone tablet, stone pier, money burner, small stone pavilion and rubble carved by the people in the 19th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. I don't know how many years later, they were deeply buried under thorns and weeds. It was not until Master Yan Jue rebuilt the Tangdang Temple and cleaned the temple foundation that they became witnesses of the ancient temple. In order to plan the drawings of the temple, the mage carefully surveyed the terrain at that time and found that the mountains here were continuous and mountainous, and there was a tendency to rush to the elephants, so he changed the pond to Fulongshan. "Long Fu" is the master's wish for Longgang's economic take-off and people's happiness. The temple base is surrounded by nine peaks and looks like a blooming lotus, so it was changed to Baolian Temple. "Baolian" people are noble in quality, emerging from the mud without being stained, symbolizing the solemnity and nobility of Buddhism. Although the mountain shape of Fulongshan is good, an ancient temple has been built. However, the war buried everything here. There is no road, only a narrow path covered by thatch: there is no water, only a depression between spring water and rocks; Without electricity, we can only rely on the sun and the moon. You must open the way before you start the mountain. The mountain about 500 meters, though not high, is steep. There was no basic pavement and no technicians to open the way. The mage tried rope survey for the first time, blew up mountains to open the way for the first time, set up his own gravel factory for the first time, and tried to burn bricks in the kiln for the first time, too many times. No money, no manpower; Self-financing and self-reliance: There are many difficulties. At that time, lay people in Guangdong and Wuhan came out of curiosity, and their current situation moved them. Although there is no road in Baolian Temple, the master paved the way for enlightenment and liberation in the hearts of believers. If you can't afford a regular road, open the subgrade first. Roads are impassable when it rains, and transportation will be stepped up when it is sunny. Dirt roads often collapse, so they are filled with gravel for maintenance. Building materials can't climb mountains because of road problems, so people pull their shoulders. In order to deliver supplies when the weather is fine, the mage often goes down the mountain before dawn and is too busy to eat or sleep in the middle of the night. How many times the car broke down in the barren hills and was trapped in danger, so it should not be every day; How many times the materials got stuck in the mud, hungry and cold, and the ground was ineffective. Although the mountain road leading to Baolian Temple is often fragile and muddy, the Buddhist path constructed by Master Yan Jue and his followers is tough and flat. Building a good road is too important for Baolian Temple. When it rains, it is full of mud, so it is necessary to keep filling stones. Sunny days are full of dust. You must keep filling the sand. Otherwise, people on the mountain can't get down. People under the mountain can't get up. In addition, the long-term transportation of building materials for heavy trucks also makes them often fragile. At first, the grass was covered with rocks, and I couldn't see where the driveway was the most suitable. As the road opened a little, the thorns were pulled out one by one, and I found a more reasonable passage, so I did it again and again. In this way, several different mountain roads have finally widened a little. From the dirt road to Shashi Road and the three-kilometer mountain road, Master Yan Jue and his followers walked for twenty years and worked hard for twenty years. This road also remembers the hardships and tenacity of Master Yan Jue's life from hiking to changing bicycles and motorcycles to using four trucks. Temples are built in the mountains, far away from social infrastructure, and it is impossible without clean and stable water. When Master Yan Jue first started to live in the mountains, he relied on a mouthful of Koizumi to maintain his daily life. One year, there was no rain in the mountains for three months, and it was a drought. Although the water didn't dry up, Master Yanjue was worried about using water to open a kiln and burn bricks. So he decided to follow the spring to find water. The master was overjoyed and found that the mountain spring emerged from a huge boulder six meters square. He thinks it may be feasible to drill a well here. However, the local people think that limestone can't be blown up, for fear that it will leak if it is blown up. After several in-depth investigations on the surrounding environment of Baolian Temple, the mage decided to blow up this stone. After blasting the boulder, you can see that the first-line water source is gurgling along a dragon cave. In Longdong, a person can go in and out freely. It turns out that water flows down the dragon cave's longkou. Later, Master Yan Jue built a small room above the mouth of the cave to cover the dust, and built a circular well with a diameter of 6 meters and a depth of 3 meters below Longkou. Three or four automatic filter tanks were made in the well. After several renovations and reorganizations, the well now includes a long brick house and an ancient building complex in Dashuijing Ancient Buildings with a capacity of 120 cubic meters, which can supply daily water for at least 300 people. All the rooms in the temple are piped with running water. The water in limestone mountain is different from tap water and contains a small amount of sediment. In order to purify water for residents and believers, Master Yan Jue installed a filtering water purification device on the water tower. Make sure everyone uses water healthily. Solved the water problem, without electricity, the machine could not be started. Master Yan Jue raised more than RMB100000, and asked the staff of Yangxin electric power bureau to set up telephone poles, install transformers and pull wires at the foot of the mountain village more than 1500 meters away, which solved the necessary hydropower facilities for temple construction and ensured the basic convenience of the temple. To build a big jungle-style temple in the barren hills, we must operate well, and we must constantly enrich and learn all aspects of knowledge in order to cope with all kinds of management. Late at night, you will see the light in Master Yan Jue's room always on. At that time, he was studying the cornices and arches of ancient buildings. Engineering budget, auto repair, personnel management, eloquence speech, calligraphy practice, poetry couplets ... He will learn everything he needs in his career of spreading Buddhism, and will keep pace with the times and truly implement it in daily life. With extensive contact with all walks of life, he realized that he must improve his cultural literacy in order to attract more believers and promote the greater development of temples in the future society. Therefore, in 2002, Master Yan Jue went to Huazhong University of Science and Technology to study for a master's degree in religious philosophy, and began a three-year study life, studying in the spirit of building a temple and making continuous progress. The study of graduate students makes Master Yan Jue have a comprehensive and profound grasp of religious laws and regulations, religious policies and religious status quo. In terms of engineering construction, Master Yan Jue thinks that the labor cost of contracting and contracting materials is too high, and the merits donated by ten believers are all saved by believers from all walks of life. We must try our best to save costs and do the biggest thing with the least money. Contracting and non-contracting materials may be more suitable forms. Through the temple's own planning materials, purchasing materials and transporting materials, these links can be controlled by itself to save costs to the maximum extent. He put forward a new topic for himself, that is, he must learn to drive. So I learned to drive again. Not long after, a bald driver driving a dragon carriage often ran up and down the mountain path in long gang zhen, attracting countless villagers to look at it strangely. Later, he used mobile phones and computers, and a monk led the modern fashion in the village. Influenced by him, the villagers around Yanquan Village of Baolian Temple also worked hard to get rich and headed for a well-off society. From 1995, Master Yan Jue began to prepare for the construction of the Hall of the Great Hero. 1999, the construction of Daxiong Hall was officially started, and the materials needed for the building, such as cement, steel, bricks, sand and gravel, were purchased and transported by the mage himself. He saw that the design fee of the Hall of Great Heroes needed tens of thousands, so he used his own wisdom to design drawings and calculate the mechanical parameters himself. Master Yan Jue communicated, discussed and debated with the construction team again and again on how to calculate working hours, how to construct, how to save materials better and how to make better quality. Sometimes, he climbed to the height of the beam and sat for hours, watching migrant workers construct, pouring cement, collecting bricks and handing tiles. Whether it's gallstones, hot sun or windy rain, you will see a mage who is both an engineer and a supervisor on the construction site. Several ancient construction teams can't do fighting arches, but they learned from the mage. Master Yan Jue led the masses and believers of Baolian Temple from scratch. After more than ten years of hard struggle and unremitting efforts, he finally built the basic supporting facilities such as Daxiong Baolian Temple Hall, Tianwang Temple, Baolian Temple Guest Room, Monk Room, Jail Hall and Retreat Hall with a total construction area of 7,000 square meters on a thorny barren mountain. Among them, the most distinctive thing is that 32 statues of white jade Buddha and Bodhisattva enshrined in the whole temple were all brought back from Myanmar. The three giant buddhas are solemn, Guanyin Bodhisattva is merciful and peaceful, Manjusri Bodhisattva Pu Xian is full of wisdom and deeds, Maitreya Bodhisattva is smiling, Wei Tuo Bodhisattva is majestic, and the eighteen arhats are lifelike. Each Buddha statue is an interpretation of the infinitely profound and broad Buddhist principles. At present, the construction of Dharma Hall, Zen Hall and Buddhist Hall with teaching as the main body is under preparation, and it is planned to be completed on 20 1 1. There are also supporting environmental greening and road construction, with a total investment of 30 million yuan. After completion, it will be a pure land on earth with beautiful flowers and beautiful scenery. There will be a Buddhist temple in southeastern Hubei, mainly to promote the Zen of ancestors.
