Is learning calligraphy really promising?
Learning calligraphy is a good thing, but it is not necessarily good to regard it as a profession. Xu Shen said in the Preface to Explaining Characters: "A calligrapher is like this." Liu Xizai's "Outline of Fine Arts" gave a concrete explanation to these four words: "A book writer is like a book. If he studies, if he is talented, if he is ambitious, in short, he is like a person. " The deeper you study calligraphy, the more you can realize that "words are like people", that is to say, calligraphy is not about learning a certain skill at all, but about people themselves.
