How to Cultivate Students' Writing Comprehension

In high school composition teaching, it is often the case that students can't write, or have no reason, but they can understand but are difficult to express. Students naturally regard composition as a fear road. Students who can't write these compositions well are not stupid either. After more than ten years of life accumulation, it cannot be said that there is no material to write. They talk glibly about everything and have flexible minds. Why don't they understand the composition at all? We have to think seriously, so how to cultivate students' understanding of composition? We can start from the following four aspects.

1. Cultivate comprehension in reading

The way to write a composition is to read more first. Reading can broaden our horizons, enlighten our thinking, accumulate language and enrich students' writing resources. The ancients said that reading is difficult and writing is easy. "Reading thousands of volumes, writing like a god." Among them, the key lies in the word "broken". We should understand its meaning, its cleverness and its mystery, not just the number of times we read it. Reading in general and doing nothing may not be helpful for writing. No matter how good a book is, if its content is far from students' life, its ideas are practical, it is difficult to improve the composition.

Then, what to read and how to read can open up understanding and improve students' writing ability?

Analyzing the current situation of students, I think reading more articles with a strong sense of the times, a strong sense of life and a strong philosophy will play an obvious role in broadening students' horizons and activating their thinking. "Copying" is an effective method. Lao Xu Manteli has a famous reading experience: "It is better to buy books than to borrow books, and it is better to copy books than to borrow books." Reading is effective only when the eyes realize it, the hands realize it and the heart realizes it. Many of our students, on the one hand, read little, and even less are beneficial to their compositions, on the other hand, they don't try their best or are not careful at all.

Based on this understanding, I advocate students to read widely, and guide students to read attentively and use their brains in a purposeful and planned way to make reading feel and gain. Therefore, I have given students a long training of "extracting, commenting and imitating writing", which not only makes students' reading tools, but also makes students' "accumulation" increase day by day.

Although accumulation itself does not mean the openness of knowledge, there can be no qualitative leap without quantitative accumulation.

2. Cultivate savvy in training

According to the traditional way, only a few compositions are written each semester, and such training is not enough. If you don't write, it will be difficult to write and your brain will become stiff. The three are mutually causal and vicious circle. The solution is to let students move first and increase writing practice. Students' thinking can be better trained if they can practice dozens or even hundreds of topics in a semester with appropriate methods. "High-intensity exercise" training, it is impossible to write every composition from beginning to end, draw up an outline, write fragments and write parts. In this way, it is not impossible to train five or six topics in one class. Choose a topic with good writing angle, clever conception and close to students' thoughts, so that students can improve and enrich after class. The combination of the two ensures quality and quantity. With a certain accumulation of extracurricular reading as the foundation, it is not difficult for most students to complete a composition under the premise of clear angles and ideas. Students who can't write can write, students who have some basics can improve, and composition training can enter a virtuous circle. Perseverance and understanding can be cultivated.

3. Cultivate students' understanding through praise.

Being affirmed is everyone's psychological need. A sense of accomplishment is the best booster for learning. Therefore, when judging the composition, on the one hand, we should vigorously praise the students who have made progress, even if it is a small progress, we should also give full affirmation. At the same time, for students who have made progress, it is often better to dedicate their own words, talk about their own experiences, and be inspired by their peers to see examples. On the other hand, for the existing problems, only mention the phenomenon, analyze the reasons, and protect students' self-esteem. Through comments, guide and encourage students to feel life and composition attentively, and write innovative and imaginative articles.

4. Cultivate students' understanding by summarizing.

After a stage of training, such as "extracting, commenting, imitating writing, practicing writing and commenting", students will certainly have some feelings, but they are still scattered and superficial. It takes a while to sublimate it. We usually ask students to write "Postscript of Composition", asking them to review how many angles and ideas have been generated, and what events or paragraphs have triggered their feelings; Analyze the existing shortcomings and reasons, and sum up some experiences or lessons. What new ideas have sprouted after the comments? If you can modify the original text or draw up new writing ideas, your composition score can be improved accordingly. This method can really arouse students' enthusiasm for thinking. After this stage, students' writing resources are gradually enriched, and students with better understanding may reach the realm of writing.

Selection of content and learning methods. In independent choice, we can find the spark of students' potential ability, and form more and more extensive ability through mastering knowledge. Through independent choice of learning, we can better understand the value of learning, shape a sound personality and learn to survive.

Secondly, we should respect students' specialties. Teachers should not only be good at discovering students' specialties, but also develop students' specialties as a resource. In the teaching process, teachers should grasp the unique fields and growing points of students' individual potential development and respect students' different interests and hobbies. It is necessary to deeply understand each student's personality characteristics and hobbies, encourage and actively create conditions to help students develop their specialties, and leave more choices and free development space for students.

in short

Innovation is the eternal motive force of human society and the inexhaustible source of national prosperity. Whether a nation can stand on its own feet in the world, stand at the tide of history and control the commanding heights of science and technology depends on its innovation ability and level, which in turn depends on whether the innovation education of a country and a nation can be implemented smoothly. Only by breaking the shackles of traditional education and establishing a brand-new educational innovation system can we provide a good environment and strong impetus for the development of quality education, and also make quality education truly implemented.
