The eight-character method is the rule of China's calligraphy. Taking the eight-stroke sequence of the word "Yong" as an example, this paper expounds the method of writing in block letters: the point is the side, the side front is steep, and the strokes are placed horizontally, which is enough to close the front; Cross for fun, against the front of the paper, slowly rushing back, not flat with the front; Straight pen is an effort, not too straight. If it is too straight, it will be stiff and weak, but it must be straight and look at the curve.
The hook is a pin (t √), and the front end of the pen is raised to concentrate the force on the nib; Raising the horizontal is the strategy, the stroke is straight, and the effective force is at the end of the stroke; Long left for the prey, straight strokes, slightly fat front, force to send; Short skimming is pecking, writing left, fast and sharp; Writing is true (philosophy), falling lightly against the trend, slowing down the front, and focusing on subtlety.
Basic explanation
The eight strokes of the word "Yong" are actually the eight strokes of the word "Yong", which represent the general strokes in China's calligraphy, that is, the eight strokes of "side, music, crossbow, shovel, strategy, grazing, pecking and licking", which are clearly explained in Zhu Zongyuan's book "An Introduction to China Calligraphy".
1, point method
Point, that is, "side". When writing, you need to turn the pen tip sideways, hence the name. Point is the root of Chinese characters, and strokes such as horizontal, vertical, skimming and pressing all start from one point.
Points include upper point, lower point, left point, right point, upper left point, upper right point, lower left point and lower right point.
2. Selection method
A pick shaped like an obtuse triangle. The writing of "strategy" and "peck" is similar to the picking method.
There are up, down, left, right, left, right, left, left, left, left, right and so on.
3. Horizontal method
Horizontal, that is, "le". The so-called "le" originally means that the end of the reins is held on the horse's mouth, uneven and similar in shape. When writing, you need to hold the pen tip when you draw the pen horizontally, hence the name.
There are horizontal, concave, convex, thick waist, thin waist, left pointed cross and right pointed cross.
4. Vertical method
Vertical, that is, "crossbow". When writing, the pen tip is like archery with a bow, hence the name.
There are vertical, right arc vertical, left arc vertical, thin waist vertical, thick waist vertical, upper pointed vertical, lower pointed vertical and so on.
5. Skimming
Skim, that is, "skim" The general habit is called "skimming"
There are straight, curved, thin waist, thick waist, elbow, bent tail and so on.
6. si method
, that is, "qi". When writing, it is like a tortuous water wave.
There are straight strokes, arc strokes, pointed strokes, square strokes, long strokes and short strokes.
7. Juefa
Jue, the stroke shape is like a person bending over, hence the name. The ancients also called it "hook method".
There are straight syncope, arc syncope, high syncope, short syncope and oblique syncope.
8. Hooking method
Hook and stroke "like a crescent moon in the sky". Similar to the end of "". The ancients also called it "Gofa".
Hooks include straight hooks, arc hooks, high hooks, short hooks and oblique hooks.
Allusions in Eight Laws of Yongzi
According to legend, Wang Xizhi, a great calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, spent several years writing the word "Yong". He believes that this word has eight methods of regular script. If you write the word "forever" well, all words can be written well. Later, Sun Zhiyong, the seventh generation of Wang Xizhi, passed this "Eight Methods of Yongzi" to Yu Shinan. Later it was handed down by many calligraphers. According to legend, Wang Xizhi has been to Tiantai Mountain and was deeply attracted by the scenery there. He settled down at the top of the mountain and enjoyed the sunrise and the wonders of the vast sea all day, from which he got the inspiration of calligraphy.
He practices calligraphy tirelessly every day, constantly washes the brush and inkstone, and finally dyes a pool of crystal clear black, which shows his obsession with calligraphy research. One night, Wang Xizhi was still practicing calligraphy. He wrote one piece of white paper after another and spread it all over the floor, but he was still not satisfied. Later, I was really tired and fell asleep at my desk.
At this moment, a breeze suddenly blew and a white cloud floated by. On the cloud, an old man with a silver beard looked at him with a smile and said, "I see you are studying calligraphy with great concentration every day, working very hard." Now I'll teach you a pen style, which will be useful in the future. " You held out your hand. "Wang Xizhi heard that, incredibly held out her hand. The old man wrote a word on the palm of his hand, then nodded and said, "Your calligraphy level will be higher and higher." Then he disappeared into the air.
At this moment, Wang Xizhi hurriedly shouted, "Where is your husband's home?" I only heard a faint voice in the air: "White clouds on the roof ..." After watching the old man leave, Wang Xizhi looked at his palm and thought all night. He finally understood that the strokes of the square characters and the tricks of the shelf structure were all embodied in the word "forever". Professor Baiyun's skill is really good! From then on, Wang Xizhi practiced calligraphy more diligently and his calligraphy was more free and easy.
Later, Wang Xizhi and his friends met in Lanting, and he wrote a calligraphy treasure "Preface to Lanting", which was handed down from generation to generation and spread all over the world.
