I personally like calligraphy, especially the regular script of Yu Shinan, Yan Zhenqing and Ou Yangxun, the running script of Zhao Mengfu and the cursive script of Mi Fei. I searched rice on my mobile phone today. A few years ago, the style of calligraphy was once unhealthy, and so-called "ugly books" and other non-mainstream "calligraphy" (in fact, it can't be called "calligraphy") ran rampant. In fact, some people don't want to practice calligraphy in a down-to-earth way, but find another way, opportunistic and make excuses. This is the so-called "so-and-so book style". As a kind of writing art, the basic requirement of calligraphy is to give people some beautiful enjoyment, at least a beautiful feeling. Look at those so-called "swallows". What is the beauty of Chinese characters? Being unique is the pursuit of artists. The thin gold style you mentioned is an example. For example, modern Qigong style, Shutong style and even Xu's hard-pen calligraphy are much better than this so-called Yan style.
