Taizhou Academy of Fine Arts of Nanjing Normal University was established in 2004. After 19 years of construction and development, there are now seven majors: visual communication design, environmental design, animation, digital media art, photography, fine arts (normal school) and calligraphy, with a total of 1262 students.

1, visual communication design
The major of visual communication design was established in 2004. It is the first undergraduate major established by Taizhou College of Nanjing Normal University. This major trains applied talents who have the ability of art design planning, management and research, sound personality, ideal and belief, social responsibility and international vision, can adapt to the needs of social development, master the basic theoretical knowledge and professional skills of art design, and have practical skills related to visual communication design. Can be engaged in creative design of visual communication and teaching of visual communication design in various schools in advertising companies, news publishing houses, media companies, printing enterprises, decoration companies, propaganda departments of enterprises and institutions.
2. Digital media art
Digital media art major was established on 20 18. This major trains practical and applied talents who master film and television special effects creation, film and television post-production, network video production, Internet product development, network interactive design and production, and related tool application. Have a sound personality, ideals and beliefs, a sense of social responsibility, be able to adapt to future career and social development, and be able to engage in digital media design, animation game design, visual art design, digital film and television and other work in related fields of media culture industry.
3. Photography
This major takes the needs of the times as its own responsibility and trains compound photographers in the all-media era. In professional teaching, we take commercial photography, news photography, film and television photography, artistic photography and other directions as the main body, taking into account the exploration of virtual image and special image photography art field. The college is equipped with 6 1 1 m2 professional studios, modern digital studios and high-end digital equipment.
This major has delivered many outstanding graduates for national, provincial and municipal media and their related units. Employment scope includes film and television, paper media, online media, advertising media, publishing institutions and other imaging work. Can be competent for media propaganda posts in enterprises and institutions, and can also engage in related propaganda and teaching work in party and government organs and schools at all levels.
4. Fine Arts (Normal School)
Focusing on the goal of "a high-level application-oriented undergraduate university with distinctive characteristics", this major adheres to the orientation of running a school based on Taizhou, facing Jiangsu and radiating the surrounding areas, adheres to the construction concept of "educating people first, quality first, ability first and characteristics first", cultivates all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor, has certain artistic creation skills and theoretical research ability, and is proficient in the methods and skills of art education in compulsory education.
5. Calligraphy
This major aims to cultivate practical senior professionals with comprehensive knowledge of calligraphy, solid professional skills of calligraphy, broad vision of traditional culture, good comprehensive quality and innovative ability, who can be competent in calligraphy creation, calligraphy research, calligraphy teaching and comprehensive application of calligraphy art. This major has scientific and perfect talent training plan and syllabus, standardized teaching design and strict system management.
The core courses mainly include five-body and seal cutting copying and creation, calligraphy history, calligraphy theory, seal cutting, Chinese painting, a brief history of Chinese philosophy, calligraphy aesthetics, ancient literature, ancient Chinese, philology and other courses. After graduation, students can engage in calligraphy creation and theoretical research in calligraphy art professional groups or research institutions such as painting and calligraphy institutes, museums, art galleries, cultural centers, etc., participate in calligraphy teaching and management for children and adults in social calligraphy training institutions, and engage in calligraphy research and calligraphy teaching in colleges, middle schools and primary schools.

School personnel training adheres to the principle of employment-oriented and ability-oriented, always adheres to the principle of serving the society and improving practical ability, optimizes the structure of professional courses, gradually forms a curriculum group, strengthens practice and highlights practical training, forming a distinctive feature and advantage of "combining theory with practice, combining school with enterprise, and combining design competitions with projects". In terms of foreign exchange, such as running a school in cooperation with the University of Thyside, the cooperation mode has determined two modes: "3+1+"and "4+ 1".
