The rice paper made of green sandalwood has strong adsorption, is not easily deformed, is anti-aging, anti-insect, and has a long life. The paper has six characteristics: thin, light, soft, tough, fine, and white. . It helps calligraphers and painters achieve a special style of changing shades and increasing ink absorption when creating calligraphy and painting.
Rice paper is mainly made of green sandalwood bark and dwarf straw. The sandalwood determines the toughness and tensile strength of the paper, while the straw determines the whiteness and softness of the paper. The fusion of the two gives the paper a unique ink moisturizing property.
According to the different proportions of sandalwood and straw, rice paper can be divided into:
Cotton rice paper. Mainly made of straw as raw material, sandalwood bark accounts for up to 30%. Tanpi accounts for about 40%.
Pure skin cleansing. Sandalwood accounts for about 60%.
Tejingxuan. Sandalwood accounts for about 80%.
Generally speaking, the higher the proportion of skin, the better the quality of the paper. But it is generally unlikely to account for 100.
Shengxuan is rice paper that has not been further processed after coming out of the trough. It is characterized by softness, strong water absorption, easy to dissolve water, and ink display. Suitable for calligraphy and painting.
Shu Xuan is rice paper that has been treated with alum, and is used for painting meticulous paintings.
