The evolution of seal script
Since the Han Dynasty, it is generally believed that Da Zhuan was created by Taishi Chuan in Zhou Xuanwang (827 BC). For example, there are 15 historical records in the Han Dynasty, and Ban Gu notes: "Zhou Xuanwang Taishi wrote 15 great seals." Xu Shen also said: "Emperor Xuanwang wrote 15 pieces of Da Zhuan, which are different from ancient Chinese."
The ancient prose or the otherness, that is, Tai Shichuan added and lost the ancient prose, so Da Zhuan is also called "Zhuan Wen". Therefore, later generations all think that Da Zhuan is a form after ancient Chinese prose.
among the stone inscriptions handed down from generation to generation, Shi Guwen is the most representative. This kind of stone tool is undoubtedly the oldest and most credible stone relic in China. It is now hidden in the Palace Museum in Beijing.
Shi Guwen plays an important role in the history of calligraphy. The oldest rubbings in Shi Guwen are known to the world, which are collected by Fan Tianyi Pavilion in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. Shi Guwen's font is roughly between Zhou Jinwen and Qin Xiaozhuan. It is known that it belongs to the system of calligraphy before Qin Shihuang. Compared with the small seal script, it can be called the big seal script, which is the representative work of the big seal script.
