Ou Yangxun. One of the four masters of regular script is Ou Yangxun, a famous calligrapher in Tang Dynasty, who enjoys a high reputation in the calligraphy field in Sui Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty, Ou Yangxun was still teaching calligraphy. Wang Xizhi's calligraphy style was studied in his early years. Legend has it that he spent a large sum of money on Wang Xizhi's map of Gui Zhi and studied it day and night. Later, extensive research on the inscriptions in the Northern Dynasties formed a vigorous and dangerous trend of strict laws and regulations.
Yan Zhenqing. Chen Qing, Yan Zhenqing, is a representative figure of calligraphy innovation in the middle Tang Dynasty. His regular script is dignified and magnificent, with an open momentum. It not only has the charm of the previous calligraphy style, but also is not bound by the ancient law. It broke through the routine of the early Tang Dynasty and became a school of its own. Its font is called "Yan Ti". Yan Zhenqing occupies a special position in the history of calligraphy in China, and he is the only calligrapher who can be compared with the great calligrapher Wang Xizhi.
Liu Gongquan. The regular script written by Liu Gongquan, with Ou Yangxun's brushwork, is often closely intertwined with some strokes, making the spacious place particularly open, with fine strokes and angular edges. Unlike Yan Zhenqing's provocative brushwork, it is particularly heroic. His character has both backbone and meticulous attitude, and calligraphy also shows these characteristics, which enhances his reputation and status in Chang 'an.
Zhao Mengfu. Zhao Mengfu Zi 'ang, a passer-by in Song Xue, was the most outstanding painter in Yuan Dynasty and a calligrapher with extensive influence on later generations. He was born in a famous family, experienced the changes of Song and Yuan dynasties all his life, and his calligraphy was graceful and beautiful, which was in sharp contrast with the vigorous styles of the other three famous regular script writers. He is also a literate artist, knowledgeable and good at poetry, economy, calligraphy, painting and epigraphy.
The above is the introduction of four regular script masters. Their calligraphy styles are different, but they all have their own characteristics.
