Qingyuan City is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, located in the north-central part of Guangdong Province, the middle and lower reaches of Beijiang River, the south side of Nanling Mountains and the Pearl River Delta. By the end of 20021,the total land area of Qingyuan was 1.9 million square kilometers, accounting for 1.6% of the total land area of the whole province. Jurisdiction over 2 counties, 2 autonomous counties, 2 municipal districts and 2 county-level cities; At the end of 2022, the registered population of Qingyuan City was 4.535 million. Qingyuan City was the land of Baiyue (Guangdong) during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Guiyang, Suzhong and other five counties in Han Dynasty; Tian Liang was in prison for six years (507), and Qingyuan County was established, hence the name Qingyuan. Qingyuan is a city in Guangzhou metropolitan area. As early as the Neolithic Age, our ancestors thrived on this land and created a splendid prehistoric civilization.
