Regular script is the most popular calligraphy in China feudal society. Before regular script, China had three calligraphy styles: Da Zhuan, Xiao Zhuan and Li Shu. In the Qin Dynasty, Lisi unified writing and weights and measures, and the unified writing was Xiao Zhuan. Later, Lisi discovered another font-official script, which gradually became official script. The appearance of official script marks a great revolution of Chinese characters, marks the maturity of China's calligraphy art, and lays the foundation for the appearance of regular script calligraphy. Ouyang Xiu's regular script is exquisite and handsome, with well-balanced and harmonious structure, moving in silence and vivid. His Mo Bao is also a collection for future generations.
Ouyang xiu, the word uncle Yong, is called drunkard and layman. Ouyang Xiu had a bumpy career all his life. He first worked as a bachelor in imperial academy. When he was a priest, he went to the Ministry of War to be the teacher of the prince. His poems and words were the best at that time. There are countless peaches and plums in his life, and Su Shi's father and son, Ceng Gong and Wang Anshi all came from his door. Ouyang Xiu not only wrote excellent poems, but also wrote excellent calligraphy. Ouyang Xiu is especially good at regular script. Su Dongpo once commented on his words "Hair fluttering, frost endless". These two sentences not only clearly pointed out Ouyang Feng's calligraphy style, but also praised his demeanor, which can be called "a book is like a man". Look at the calligraphy above, the whole stroke is cautious, and the painting is meticulous, which reflects Ouyang Xiu's character of attaching importance to statutes.
