Shortcomings and countermeasures in examination essay writing

There are many disadvantages in the current examination writing of primary and secondary school students. As a teacher who has personally experienced the marking of high school entrance examinations, when I see such problematic writing, I wish I could let those students who write blindly write essays take a good look at their products. How bad.

The current shortcomings of primary and secondary school students’ examination writing mainly include the following three types.

First, the composition is written in a sloppy way, with random additions and additions, making it almost impossible for the marking teacher to read it. Such compositions greatly affect the marking teacher’s mood.

It is conceivable that it is impossible to give high scores. Generally, it is more than 20 points, and at most a pass is very impressive.

As we all know, Chinese teachers often say to students when they are writing that "the writing is half as good as the writing", which means that if a student's writing is good, the composition will be half successful.

So if students want to get high scores in composition, they must work hard on writing. At the very least, they must write well and let the marking teacher recognize your writing.

If a student writes like a calligrapher, his composition test paper will be praised by the marking teacher and passed around to the teachers around him, just like the biography of Lian Po and Lin Xiangru in the Historical Records. Like the jade from the Zhao State, the King of Qin took it to the beautiful people and passed it around.

How can such a composition teacher not read seriously? Because reading such writing is a kind of enjoyment. If the content of this student's composition is well written and the writing is full of flowers, it would be strange not to give it a high score.

If you want to write well, you need to practice a lot. You can buy a copybook and practice slowly. The best way is to use holidays to find a professional calligrapher for tutoring.

The reason for random additions and corrections is ultimately due to poor language expression, resulting in confusion in thinking where the meaning is conveyed but the meaning is not grasped.

The way to deal with it is to pay more attention to practicing writing. The important thing is to read more good essays and practice writing diaries and essays. More reading cultivates a sense of language, and more writing practice cultivates language standardization.

For example, one sentence can be said: After listening to what he said, I found that he and I thought about it together. You can also say that after listening to his words, I felt the same. The latter's expressions are concise and concise, and the sentences are penetrating and expressive.

The second is that the composition is too short and cannot reach a certain number of words. For example, the composition for primary school graduates should be more than 500 words, for junior high school students should be more than 600 words, and for high school students should be more than 800 words.

These are hard targets. There are marks of 500 words, 600 words, and 800 words on the exam composition paper.

If students fail to meet this word count standard, points will be deducted. Why do some students fail to meet the standard in word count? This is because their usual compositions are not long.

The reason why it is not long is that the content is thin and there is no description of specific details. It is just some conceptual descriptions or empty slogans.

When writing in daily life, students who cannot write long compositions must train themselves over time on how to write more details and descriptions in narratives.

For example, during dinner, the student's parents gave him a piece of lean meat. If you write it in summary, it can be expressed in just one sentence: When I was having dinner that day, my mother put a piece of lean meat in my bowl.

You can finish this in less than thirty words. But if we just write from the aspect of character description, there will be a close-up content.

When writing this matter, you can intersperse the character's language, appearance, behavior, psychology, etc. into this sentence, so that the sentence is no longer as single as before. The events at that time can be expressed in this way.

You can write it like this.

During dinner that day, my mother picked up a piece of lean meat with public chopsticks, put it in my bowl, and said to me with concern: Son, eat more lean meat to replenish your body. It’s hard for you to review. As she spoke, my mother looked at me intently and touched my face.

I suddenly felt that my mother’s hands were so warm and gentle. My nose felt sour, and in an instant, a tear fell into the bowl.

Such content has both texture and warmth, activating a scene in which a mother cares for her son and the son is grateful for his mother's affection.

The third is to use other people’s articles or paragraphs directly. This situation should be considered plagiarism.

One situation is plagiarizing the ready-made content of the given material for the composition, and the other situation is plagiarizing a paragraph in the Chinese test paper that is similar to the content of the composition in the examination room, or reshaping such a paragraph and slightly modifying it into own composition.

Another situation is plagiarism. Let me state in advance that in order to get students high scores in essays, some Chinese language teachers ask students to recite several sample essays with different contents in the form of test questions, and then write them directly from memory during the exam.

This kind of plagiarism is very secretive and difficult to detect. But if you memorize famous articles or popular Internet articles, it is still easy to be discovered by teachers.

The solution to the above plagiarism phenomenon is four words: complete it independently. To a large extent, composition is the expression of one's own emotions and experiences, and is very personal.

When students compose, they should complete it independently. They only need to write seriously, practice honestly, and write step by step, so that I write with my own hand and express my true feelings from my heart.

When the composition is written like this, even if the writing style is immature, it is still my own original creation after all. If you persist for a long time, your students' composition will gradually improve inadvertently.
