Liyuan, located in Liwan Lake Park, Liwan District, Guangzhou, is a classical garden with strong Lingnan courtyard characteristics. There is a three-level pond in the atrium, with ornamental fish such as koi fish, and a rockery in the corner of the courtyard, with various green plants, such as small potted plants, plantains and bougainvillea.
Guangzhou is located in the subtropical zone, and Liyuan is evergreen all the year round. This classical garden takes the cloister as the architectural form, and the four directions are connected, retaining the characteristics of Lingnan garden architecture in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The main building of Liyuan has two floors, and the highest floor is connected with the corridor on the second floor, accounting for about two-fifths of the circumference of the whole square garden. Walking in the corridor, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the garden intuitively from high altitude.
Litchi Bay, behind Liyuan, was once the main river in the western suburbs of Guangzhou. Litchi was planted on both banks. Later, due to various reasons, the water quality of the river deteriorated and it was closed. About ten years ago, it was reopened after treatment, showing the water town style of the old Xiguan.
The style of Liyuan is similar to that of Keyuan in Dongguan and Qinghui Garden in Shunde.
How low is the popularity of the pear garden? In fact, many friends who have lived in Guangzhou for many years don't know. Although locals usually pass by the entrance of this classical garden when visiting Liwan Lake Park, Guangzhou is so big that it is far from east, west, north and south, and it is not popular to visit the park across regions. This is the reason why many people don't understand the pear garden. I like the quiet environment of the pear garden very much, and it is particularly pleasant to visit.
Comparatively speaking, Xiyuan's reputation is even lower. What's its other name? Guangdong Cantonese Opera Art Museum? . This garden is located on Enning Road, next to the lively Yongqing Square, surrounded by Lai Chi Wan Chung. This is a complex with strong Lingnan garden and water town characteristics, which was only opened to the public in the middle of 20 16.
Visiting the West Park is free, but visitors need to bring their ID cards and register before entering the park.
There is a strong Lingnan style in the West Garden, but from the outside, there is a bit of Suzhou charm, especially when the building is reflected in the Lizhi Bay, just like a picture scroll in the south of the Yangtze River, full of ancient charm.
There is a hydrophilic stage in the West Garden, and there are often Cantonese opera performances. Yue Yun gardens have a beautiful artistic conception.
