It is a geographical feature of the Indochina Peninsula
The northern part of the Indochina Peninsula is mountainous, and the rivers flow south. This poem specifically refers to the geographical features of Myanmar, because there are Gaoligong Mountains, Gansu Mountains and Gansu Mountains in the north of Myanmar. High mountains, while the Irrawaddy River (the upper reaches is the Dulong River) and the Salween River (the upper reaches is the Nu River) flow from China into Myanmar and south into the Indian Ocean.
This is a famous poem "To Friends of Myanmar" written by Chen Yi when he went to Myanmar, praising the friendship between the people of China and Myanmar:
I live at the head of the river, and you live at the end of the river. ,
The love for each other is infinite, and we can drink water from the same river.
I drink from the upper reaches of the river, and you drink from the lower reaches of the river.
The rivers flow forever, and we enjoy each other's sweetness.
We are close neighbors and our friendship is accumulated over time.
Eternal like a green mountain, everlasting like flowing water.
Connected to each other, relying on mountains and water.
Anti-imperialism leads to freedom and peace leads to the same path.
They share the same paukphaw with each other and share many languages.
Unite and help each other, peace is powerful.
I sigh at the vastness while facing the water, and sing Shi Lei when climbing the mountain.
The mountains all face north, and the water flows south
