When I read the Book of Changes in high school, I found that there was a special modest hexagram among the 8864 hexagrams. This hexagram can actually make all six hexagrams auspicious. As Ceng Shiqiang said, "Always keep good modesty, be humble, be humble, cultivate your broad mind, and be lucky". Only then did I know that modesty was so important.
When I was in college, I found that "low-key" was the most commonly used synonym for modesty. Ma De has a particularly classic saying: "A low-key person is like drinking tea all his life. The water is boiling and his heart is still. Great wisdom is foolish, and great talent is unpretentious. " I have been thinking about the state of this great wisdom and talent. It was not until today that I heard my daughter sing the line of Cheng Zhaocai, a commentary drama, that I suddenly realized that this is low-key, this is modesty, and this is peace of mind. Anyone who knows Cheng Zhaocai knows that he has gone through hardships all his life, reformed many scripts of Pingju and made outstanding contributions to Pingju. However, in the face of praise, he said:
"My younger sister's words are untrue, and my foolish brother is not worthy to surrender.
Mo Dao is a sign, and his voice is bright.
It's all because he calls for cattle and sheep across the hill and slope.
I have no money to study, so I learned to write in the yellow sand.
I only know a few lines in San Zi Jing and Hundred Family Names.
In this aria, Cheng Zhaocai claims that he has little knowledge and knowledge, and he calls himself Yu Mu. This modesty is like a mountain buried in the ground, as the Book of Changes says. No matter how modest, it is still a mountain. Even if it is parallel to the ground, it is still a mountain, and it will not be more or less. And this kind of modesty is great wisdom and talent. It not only contains the humility that makes people live in peace with him and get along comfortably; It also contains humility that makes others admire and admire; It also contains humility that makes others moved and feel grateful. This may be the characteristics of the masters of past dynasties. The more modest, the more convinced others will be and the higher their achievements will be. After all, everyone has a steelyard in his heart.
