Significance of Hutuo River

Hutuo River, called Dianchi Lake or Asaph Xu in ancient times, is one of the upstream tributaries of Ziya River in Haihe River system.

Originated in Gouer Village, Taixishan Bridge, Fan Shi, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, it flows through Fan Shi, Daixian, Yuanping, Xinfu, Dingxiang, Yuxian, Pingshan, Lingshou, Zhengding, Gaocheng, Zanhuang and Wuji in Shijiazhuang City.

Jinzhou City of Shijiazhuang City, Shenze County of Shijiazhuang City, Anping County of Hengshui City, Raoyang County of Hengshui City, Wuqiang County of Hengshui City and xian county of Cangzhou City. Hutuo River meets Fuyang River in xian county, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, forming Ziya River, with a total length of 587 kilometers and a drainage area of 27,300 square kilometers.

The land potential of Hutuo River basin is stepped from west to east, with its upstream above Yaochi and flowing along Wutai Mountain to southwest in a banded basin. The width of the river varies from 100 m to 1000 m, and the water flow is slow. Soviet Union (short for USSR)

The upper reaches of Tuohe River are located in the mountains and basins on the eastern edge of Shanxi Plateau, with high terrain and thick loess distribution. Yaochi to Gangnan is the middle reaches, flowing through Taihang Mountain area. The valley is deep, V-shaped, with a width of less than 200 meters, a big drop and a fast current.

The middle reaches of Hutuo River is a mountainous area formed by Taihang anticline, which is rich in coal mines. Below Huangbizhuang is the downstream, which flows through the plain. The river is very wide, with a maximum width of 6000 meters. The water flow is slow and the sediment is deposited, and it gradually becomes an overground river or a semi-overground river, with dikes built on both sides.
