Pipa, everlasting regret, etc.
Pipa Xing and Song of Eternal Sorrow are Bai Juyi's most successful works, and their outstanding artistic expression is the enhancement of lyric factors. Compared with previous narrative poems, these two works also use narrative and description to express events, but they can't simplify events any more, and only use a central event and two or three main characters to structure the whole article, such as the dramatic Ma Wei incident that the author is about to skip. In the most lyrical description of the characters' psychology and the rendering of the environmental atmosphere, pen and ink are poured in order to enjoy it. Even Pipa Xing, a work with more ink on the description of music and characters' experiences, closely connects sounds with things and emotions, and sounds follow emotions, so that the process of poetry is always accompanied by touching emotional power. The lyricism of these two works is also manifested in the use of images to create an appropriate atmosphere and contrast the artistic conception of poetry, such as "He stared at the desolate moon in a temporary palace, he heard the bell in the evening rain and cut it on his chest" in Song of Eternal Sorrow; "When the maple leaves and mature rushes rustle in autumn" and "When the river mysteriously widens at the full moon" in the pipa, or a charming scene is composed of bleak moonlight, patter of night rain and heartbroken bells, or the rustling maple leaves and pipa. The feelings of sadness, sadness and melancholy revealed in it have dyed all the characters and events in the poem, and also made readers feel uneasy in front of such artistic conception and atmosphere.
