It is hard to go is the first of three original poems by Li Bai. This poem was written in the third year of Tianbao (AD 744). In the first year of Tianbao (AD 742), the poet should go to Beijing to offer sacrifices to the Hanlin, trying to display his great ambition of saving the country and saving the world, but he was soon slandered and left Chang 'an.
