There was once a local official who got the news after listening to Wang Yangming's lecture, which was very rewarding. Later, he found him and said, I really want to study your thoughts in depth, but I really can't spare time to study because of my busy business. what can I do?
At this time, Wang Yangming said, I never said that you would leave your job to practice. In fact, the best practice is at work.
For example, when you judge a case, you should have an innocent heart. You should not deliberately punish the other person because of his rudeness and anger, nor should you condescend to forgive him because you sympathize with the other person's pleading. Never be impartial in doing things, which is practice.
No one has ever said that practice is called practice when a person sits there motionless. The real practice is not only in the mountains, temples, but also in the society. Daily practice is practice.

Enjoy your work wholeheartedly.
Every time you remind yourself to enjoy the present and look at the problem from another angle, you will feel different.
The reality is the same. If I ask you, is it stressful to go to work?
You will definitely say, stressful. Because customers are difficult to deal with, we have to spend a lot of energy to communicate, but this is also the time for us to practice.
When the dust settles and you calm down, you will find that your ability is improved in these processes.
Observe the breath: realize the income and commitment.
Busy work always occupies most of the time. It doesn't matter when you are engaged in your work.
But every once in a while, you can stop for a second or two, realize your breathing, and let yourself live in the present.
You can also find yourself a place to catch your breath at work. For example, you can have a cup of coffee or look at the flowers and trees outside the window and find a quiet place. At this time, your mood and your state will be much better.
Meditation: Get the freedom and liberation of the moment.
In the book, thich nhat hanh encourages everyone to be a Buddha in the office. At first glance, you may find it a bit difficult.
In fact, as long as we can sit like a Buddha and enjoy the process of meditation, then meditation is practice.
If you don't waste every moment of your work, you can get the freedom and liberation of the moment.
Walking: coordinate the rhythm of walking and breathing, and focus on the soles of your feet.

From the moment the phone rings, don't rush to answer it. You should put your hand on your mobile phone, then take two or three deep breaths, adjust your mood and pick up the phone.
In the process of breathing, you have to tell yourself, word spread to Wan Li. May they be as beautiful as gems and as beautiful as flowers.
Why do you say that? Because the information transmitted by telephone will travel far. Therefore, I hope my words can convey a good message to each other, just like gems and flowers. This is a meditation to answer the phone, so from the beginning of answering the phone, it is practice.

How to decompress with mindfulness?
"Sometimes the working environment will make us feel uncomfortable, insecure, feel that we are not accepted and afraid of being rejected. However, when we came to Shan Ye surrounded by trees and animals, they seemed to accept us, and we seemed to find a transformation. We are not afraid that they will examine and judge us. But at work, we are afraid of not being recognized. We are afraid to express ourselves. We try to express ourselves and feel accepted by others. This is unfortunate. "
Why do we feel completely different at work and in nature? Why do many people like to relax in nature? That's because nature won't judge you.
The ancients said that "heaven is not selfish, and earth is not selfish", because heaven and earth will not give you too much separation and judgment like people, which is the truth.
Therefore, thich nhat hanh put forward six methods that can be used in the work of "mindfulness decompression":

Seeking refuge at work: self-acceptance and self-expression;
Emotional management: pay attention to the impermanence of emotions, immediately extinguish the mind, draw attention away, return to the body, and use meditation to resolve anger;
Dealing with anger: breathe mindfully, walk mindfully, tolerate your anger, admit it, and then slowly resolve it;
Mindfulness dialogue: Words include understanding, sympathy, joy and forgiveness. Speak with love, sympathy and understanding, and listen with sympathy;
Mindfulness meeting: listen to other people's experiences with an open attitude, retreat before the meeting and share positive emotions.
At work, we can imagine ourselves as a tree or a flower, as long as we try our best to be ourselves.
Strive to keep growing, in fact, everyone is racing with themselves. I don't need to please my colleagues, leaders and everyone, just try my best to do things well, which makes it easier to do things well.
At the same time, like a mother, you should take care of your children with fear, anger and despair. Only in this way can they become better.
Once you see these children crying, immediately pick them up gently and pat them to calm them down. This is your duty.
Instead of constantly blaming yourself when fear, anger and despair are rising. When you constantly blame yourself, you will find that these things will become more and more powerful and it will control you.
But when you start to take care of it, it will gradually weaken and decrease, because you treat it with compassion.
When you are angry, in addition to adjusting your heart, you might as well try thich nhat hanh's "three sentences" to resolve your anger:
The first sentence I hope you understand my feelings;
The second sentence, I am trying to change my mood;
Please help me say the third sentence.
These three sentences sound easy, but what is the biggest difficulty? As long as you can put down your posture.
When your anger is not resolved, you can tell people around you how you feel and try to transform your emotions.
If there is still no solution, it is a good idea to ask for help. When you are willing to apply for help from others, prove that you know that we are all one.
At this time, colleagues or friends may say, what can I do for you? In this way, while discussing together, it can also reduce anger.

Accomplish your career in peace and joy
Think about a question, how much work do we have at the expense of happiness? The office is the best place to practice, and everything at work is practice.
No matter what your situation and who you meet, everything is training your mind.
So you have to explore the meaning of career, find a job that you think is meaningful, and then work hard.
To sum up, thich nhat hanh believes that there are three very important ways to maintain happiness in life:
The first method should be good at discovering happiness, that is, the perception of happiness;
The second method is to remember the painful experience;
The third way is to live in the present and not be shocked by sadness or joy.
We should learn to be our own observers, practice the attitude of life that blends with the joys and sorrows of life, and accept the pain instead of resisting and suppressing it. Only in this way can you truly become your own hero.
Work itself is a part of life, so you should practice with heavy work, because work itself provides you with an opportunity to practice.
No matter what work we do, we regard it as an exercise. We are not only influencing ourselves, but also influencing others. Learn to adjust your mind before you do anything.
When you can clearly perceive what you are doing at the moment, then everything you do is actually your life.
Remember what Teacher Zhai once said in class? He said, don't be busy every day. Sometimes it is good to sit there and calm down, even if it is only for a few minutes.
So, when you are upset and anxious, imagine yourself on the plane, start the "silent mode" of life, complain less, reflect more and be grateful forever. Everything in the world should not be disappointing.
