When reading the Great Chinese Dictionary, it is often found that a word may have only one pronunciation in a small dictionary, and many pronunciations will be marked in this dictionary. The more I looked at it later, the more I thought it was nothing strange. With such a long history and such a large region, it is normal that everyone's pronunciation will change with the changes of the times or regions. It would be strange if everyone read the same pronunciation from ancient times to the present, from the Central Plains to the frontier fortress.
In my hometown dialect, sweet potato or sweet potato is called sweet potato, and its pronunciation is close to fū. Dozens of miles away from our village, the sound changed. They laughed at us and said, "We should read sweet potatoes." In the village three miles away from our village, the students there also laughed at us: "You said,' You stepped on my foot (júe)', which is actually wrong. You should say,' You stepped on my foot (chǐI)'. This example of "three miles in different days" may be extreme, but it also shows that it is normal for everyone to pronounce a word differently.
I once said that the password of the military training instructor "12 1" sounds like "teeth" and "at ease" sounds like "sweeping the west". In the hometown dialect, the word "he" is pronounced as "te" instead of "tā", and even the older generation pronounced "they" as "t? Nmen ",it sounds to me that this word has an antique charm. "he" is pronounced as "te", much like the long sounds of "He" and "She" in English are pronounced as short sounds.
Does Chen Yinque read "kè" or "què"? Teacher Chen said that you want to study kè. Someone asked, "Why do people call you Yin què? Why don't you correct it? " Mr. Chen smiled and asked, "Is this necessary?" -This point, someone commented, "shows a great scholar's profound understanding of the complexity of Chinese phonetic evolution (/cul/news/2009/03-19/1609610. shtml)”。
The word "oblique" is "far cold mountain, the stone path is oblique", but I still don't approve of reading the modern sound xié. There are not many reasons (and there is no need) to consider the rhyme in the poem. Reading western poetry rhymes, while reading western poetry does not rhyme. You can find this example by taking a collection of poems at random. I don't understand why the pronunciation of the word "Xie" should keep pace with the times, just like adding a word "xi×" to the notes and driving the car backwards. Not exactly.
I also remembered a pronunciation mistake I made when I was a comprehensive quality judge in the Young Singers Competition, and I pronounced "Yaoshan" as "lè Mountain". But Mr. Yu doesn't agree with his mistake-"What's the big deal, need shelling?" Originally, it was no big deal for ordinary people to mispronounce one or two words, so there was no need to bombard them. But I am different from ordinary people. He is a master of culture, so people's requirements are naturally stricter. In addition, he often criticizes the poor cultural quality of singers. If it's not your turn to make a mistake, then change the standard and be lenient, otherwise it won't be "lenient"
If we take "insipid" and "logo" as examples to defend, it may sound reasonable at first glance, but it is actually different. The evolution of "Gang" and "Symbol" is recognized in the dictionary, but "Yaoshan" has not developed into "lè Mountain", and it is unlikely that the evolution will be completed from the moment Mr. Yu mispronounced it.
You can save face with knowledge, and even use strong words regardless of logic, but in this process, people will see the master's attitude towards mistakes and set an example for future study.
