He is the author of 10 Volume Collection of the Yangtze River, recording more than 390 poems. He is good at five-character poems, and his poems are good at carving. He was taught by Han Yu because of the word "the monk knocks (pushes) the door under the moon". Because of his experience as a monk, he likes to write about desolate and lonely places and is regarded as a typical poet in the Tang Dynasty.
