What's interesting about Daming Lake?

Daming Lake is located in the center of Jinan, north of the old city. Together with Baotu Spring and Qianfo Mountain, it is called the Three Scenes of Jinan. Among the eight scenic spots in Jinan, Daming Lake has three: boating in Huming Lake, experiencing the autumn wind and gathering waves at night.

Jinan is known as the "spring city", with more than 100 spring eyes, including 72 famous springs. Minghu Lake is a natural lake formed by the confluence of springs. Spring water flows in from the south bank, and when it is full, it flows out from the North Watergate built on the north bank. The bottom of the lake is composed of impervious igneous rocks, so the lake "keeps the rain from rising, and it will not dry up after a long drought" and maintains a relatively fixed water level all the year round. The park covers an area of 86 hectares, including 46 hectares of lakes. There are six islands on the lake, including Lixia Pavilion, Huiquan Hall and Huxin Island. The natural landscape of the park is beautiful and pleasant. The lake is sparkling, kites are flying, fish are jumping and cruise ships are passing by. Since ancient times, Daming Lake has been full of lotus flowers, weeping willows and lush flowers and trees. "Lotus on four sides and willow on three sides, a city with mountains and half a city" is the best portrayal of her scenery. The human landscape of the park is very rich. More than 30 places of interest, such as Lixia Pavilion, Tiegong Temple, Nanfeng Temple and Arctic Temple, are hidden among trees and flowers, showing a long history and culture.

Daming Lake is a natural lake, which was first recorded in Li Daoyuan's Notes on Water Classics in the Northern Wei Dynasty. It was called Lotus Lake in Sui and Tang Dynasties, West Lake in Song Dynasty and Daming Lake in Jin and Yuan Dynasties. There are many inscriptions in the park, among which Du Fu's "Jinan is full of celebrities, and there are many pavilions on the right side of the sea" was written by He, and his couplets and inscriptions by He and Weng Fanggang all have profound cultural connotations and artistic level.

The main scenic spots in the park include memorial archway, Yuanyuan, Jiaxuan Temple, Tiegong Temple, Lixiating, Arctic Temple, Nanfeng Temple, Huibo Building, Mingchang Bell Pavilion, Mingding Lake and Zenggong Painted Wall. There is a 100-meter fountain in the middle of the lake, among which Lixiating and Tiegong Temple are municipal-level cultural relics protection units. Every year, the park holds a variety of garden activities, including Spring Festival cultural temple fairs, Spring Festival flower exhibitions, lotus exhibitions, folk cultural activities, flower bonsai exhibitions, and strange stone exhibitions.

Xinjiaxuan memorial hall

Yao Garden, located on the south bank of Daming Lake, was built in 196 1, facing south, and is a residential building with three courtyards. In the middle of the gate is the gold plaque of Xinjiaxuan Memorial Hall hung by Comrade Chen Yi. The statues of Xin Qiji are hung in the east and west wings. The showcase shows Xin Qiji's life story and representative works, as well as important documents and materials for later generations to study Xin Qiji. On both sides, there are a brief account of Xin Qiji's life story, a schematic diagram of his life activities, and photos of Xin Qiji's hometown, former residence and mausoleum relics.

[Little Canglang Pavilion]

Living in the garden near the lake, surrounded by lotus ponds on three sides, surrounded by mountains and waters, the lake water is introduced into the palace through canals, and the realm is quiet. Standing on the pavilion, you can see the whole lake. You can see the reflection of Qianfo Mountain on a sunny day. Tie Bao, Weng Yungang, Ruan Yuan and other literati and calligraphers in the Qing Dynasty are embedded in the wall of the West Corridor, and most of them are poems chanting Xiao Canglang and Daming Lake.

[Huibo Building]

Huibo Building in the north of Nanfeng Temple is the north gate of Jinan, also called Huibo Gate, which was built by Ceng Gong in Song Dynasty. 1982, the municipal government allocated funds for reconstruction. This building is tall and majestic. It is a two-story tower building with cliffs and double eaves. Eight wind chimes are hung on the upturned beams on the two floors of the building, and traditional fancy patterns are carved on the doors, windows and partitions. The whole building has reasonable structure and bright colors. This building overlooks Quancheng and has a panoramic view of lakes and mountains. If you go upstairs at night, you can "catch waves at night".

Beijiguan

Located on the northeast bank of Daming Lake, it is a Taoist temple. This pavilion was built in the Yuan Dynasty. It was rebuilt in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty. This group of buildings consists of bell and drum tower, front and rear halls and east and west annex rooms. In the center of the front hall is a statue of Zhenwu the Great, 2.5 meters high, with a plaque of "Shu Tian" on it. There are clay sculptures of Si Tianjun, Qinglong, Xian Zhen, Fengbo and Leigong 18. The east and west walls are also painted with murals such as the Legend of Zhenwu. There are portraits of Zhenwu's parents in the back hall.

In the center of Daming Lake is a large-scale artificial 100m fountain, which was built in 1985. 100 meter fountain has 103 nozzles, the main nozzle has a range of 100 meter, and the other 102 nozzles have a range of 40 meters, 28 meters and 25 meters respectively, which is magnificent and rare in China. There are amusement parks on the west bank of the lake, including ferris wheel, battery car, lunar rocket, gliding dragon, bumper cars, wavy pearls, bumper boats and other amusement facilities. There are also transport ships, yachts, painting boats, battery boats, motorboats, and more than 400 paddle boats and pedal boats. Visitors can row boats on the lake and enjoy the tour. There are tea shops, food departments, photography departments, restaurants and other service facilities in the park. Minghulou Hotel on the north shore uses the rich aquatic products in the lake to cook "the old flavor", and the whole fish banquet is good in shape, color and taste. Minghulou Restaurant is divided into three parts: large, medium and small, which can serve 500 people at the same time.
