Do you know the legend of Bai Mudan tea?

Fuding County, Fujian Province is rich in Bai Mudan tea. Its two leaves hold a bud, which is dark gray-green and covered with white fluff. At first glance, it looks like a small white peony flower, light and pleasant. Regular brewing can moisten the lungs and clear heat, and is generally used as medicine.

It is said that the origin of Bai Mudan tea originated from a legend. This kind of tea tree is transformed from peony flowers and plants.

In the distant Western Han Dynasty, there was a magistrate named Mao Yi. He is honest and upright. Because he didn't like corrupt officials, he resigned and followed his mother to live in seclusion in the mountains. One day, mother and son came to a green hill on a white horse, only to feel that strange smell came to their faces, and the fatigue of running around for days seemed to dissipate at this moment. Mao Yi asked an old man with a crane hair and a silver beard hanging down his chest by the roadside where the fragrance came from. The old man pointed to eighteen Bai Mudan trees beside the lotus pond and said that they gave off this fragrance. Mother and son saw that this place was like a fairyland, suitable for seclusion, so they stayed, built a temple to cultivate monks, protected flowers and planted tea.

After such a long time, Mao Yi's mother fell ill because of old age and fatigue. Mao Yi looked for medicine everywhere, but she couldn't cure her mother's illness. He felt so anxious that he fell asleep on the side of the road. In his dream, he saw the fairy with white hair and silver beard again. The fairy told him that carp and fresh tea are indispensable to cure your mother's illness. When Mao woke up, he hurried home, only to hear his mother tell him that he had just dreamed that Xian Weng said that he wanted me to eat crucian carp with fresh tea before he could be cured. Mao Yi was pleasantly surprised. Mother and son had a dream together. He thinks this must be the guidance of the gods. However, it was a cold winter and there was no new tea to find. Mao Yi went to the pond to break the ice and caught a carp. Just as he was thinking about how to find new tea, he suddenly heard a loud noise. I saw 18 peony flowers by the pool turned into 18 kinds of fairy tea, and the trees were covered with fresh green leaves. Mao Yi immediately picked it and dried it, but those white furry tea leaves smelled like white peony flowers. When the tea was dry, Mao Yi immediately cooked carp with fresh tea for his mother to eat. After eating it, my fucking illness really got better. She asked her son to look after the eighteen tea trees, and then he drifted away and became tea fairy, who was in charge of the green hills around here and helped people grow tea.

Later, in order to commemorate Mao Yi's achievements in planting tea to benefit the people, Bai Mudan Temple was built, and the famous tea produced in this area is called Bai Mudan Tea.
